The Blazers offered their full midlevel exception in a frontloaded contract that includes a $9.2 million payday in the first year in hopes it would be too expensive for the Jazz to match and keep Matthews, the source said. The Blazers had considered making an offer to Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Farmar,  sources said, but turned to Matthews after a meeting with him on Friday.

Wesley Matthew, undrafted shooting guard, second year in the league, will make more than anyone else that was picked over him last summer. Everyone has a basketball fantasy right? Like "how I'd do it differently because all those jokers are messing it up"?

Well my fantasy changed. Now I want to be undrafted. More money and you get to choose your team.

Wesley Mathews = perfect fit for Portland.

Love this move. Even though he's getting payed pretty large, I don't blame the Blazers, he's got real potential, and is already a very solid player. Should start.

This is a great deal for Matthews, but he is going from vastly underpaid to vastly overpaid.
