Do you guys remember this? During the 2005 playoffs? That intensity is something this team needs again and I truly feel that with limited minutes (20-25 mpg) unlike in New York, T-Mac can still produce some serious damage to teams. Think about it, T-Mac still has something to prove to people..back then people were debating about who was better t-mac or kobe? and now look at kobe, still playing well . I think we should go after tracy with the vet minimum and show him that he will only win a title in Boston. Only 31 too, so his age isn't too bad. I think we should give him a shot for Banner 18.

I believe he still got it after watching him put up some good games for the Knicks last year. And I would be completely for signing T-mac. The only thing is, he will most likely get a better offer somewhere else.

And like someone said to me in another thread....T-mac would most likely want to start than come off the bench (even tho I think he would make a great 6th man for this team).

I think he would make a great backup 2/3 for us.

He won't shoot very effective, but with the second unit, it's hard to find a wing player who would.

He is at least capable of making some very, very difficult shots, and he can still get on a hot streak and score in bunches.

If he can do that AND defend, rebound, and make the extra pass like he always could, he would be a fantastic pickup.

We could entice to be 6th man of the year  ;D i think he's in a position to accept an excellent role player position if he knows that he can still contribute to a contending team. His window to some was closed and so why not come back and prove to people that he still has value under a contending team? I thought i heard somewhere that he would accept a deal under a contending team, even if it is as a role player?

Ya know, if you look at the RealGM free agent tracker they have no less than 9 teams listed as landing spots for Tracy McGrady. None of those speculated landing spots is in Boston.

Given that Doc Rivers once coached Tracy McGrady and that he more than anyone would know what he could bring to a team and how he could effect a team, the fact that Boston isn't listed there is telling to me. Like a giant red flag. It says that there is no way McGrady ends up in Boston because Doc doesn't want him here because Doc knows he's not the type of player that would fit in here.

I seriously doubt T-Mac to Boston is even a remote possibility.

I'd rather have Dorell Wright to back up Pierce, if we could get him somehow.

T-Mac is a good player, but he may need many minutes to be effective for us.

He's gonna get hurt when someone throws a towel at him. Look what happened in Houston and then immediately when he went to the Knicks (the second game he got hurt). You can't count on the guy to be healthy.

I agree that maybe there is something there between Doc and him. I thought TMac through Doc under the bus and wanted him gone after that horrid start in 2003. Doc probably knows something we don't, and passed it along to Danny.

Still, I think the ego-maniacal TMac circa 2002 is much different than the TMac of present. He's probably still ego driven, but not to the same extent.

Or maybe Danny simply wants a better backup at the 2/3 and vet minimum bigs.

Was gonna say the same thing. I think Rivers is thrilled to have McGrady far, far away after what he went through in Orlando.
