I wouldn't put the Bulls ahead of the Celtics. Boston are still the better team.

Chicago are a real threat though. They're not as good as the Celtics are but they are close enough in ability to give them a real run for their money.
Yeah, just like last year there will be no easy opponents in the post season for Boston.

Let the pessimists, (sorry ... the realists), unite! They're getting started early this year, huh? Well, it wouldn't be our good ol' CB without them, so go crazy, doubters!

All it means is another humbling playoff season for you next spring, and a few well-timed "I told you so"'s after we teach the Bulls a lesson ... again! (Yawn) ;)

The only thing that I see giving more ammo to doubters or whatever, is that another regular season of coasting is not going to land a 4th seed and a patsy first round opponent this year.  A season like we had last year will likely mean 5th or 6th seed and a date with Orlando or slightly lesser team w/o home court in the opening round.
Yup

Well, luckily the Celtics are in a putrid division with currently some of the absolute worse teams in the league. The C's could probably play .500, which I don't see them doing, and still win the Atlantic. If they win the Atlantic, like last year, the worst they could do is a 4th seed.

Good point Nick.  Forgot about the all important Division Title.  Didn't they change the seeding method for this year somehow?
Yup

For one thing,we might not even have to play the Bulls. We're pretty much assured a top 3 position because of our sucky division.Similarly, the Bulls/Milwaukee will probably fill out the top 4,with us (hopefully) getting second and avoiding the Hawks

No I don't think they did. Wasn't the rule in place already but only came up when it looked like Atlanta was going to get a better record than us?

It's just too early for such predictions about who's going to get by who in the playoffs. Rosters are not set yet. We haven't seen any of the teams adding new starters play. We haven't seen how well new coaches are going to do. I thought the Cs had built enough goodwill from these playoffs to post-pone writing them off at the very least until training camp starts.

Rose
Korver
Redick
Noah
Boozer

Honestly, with all the trouble they've given us over the years, this roster looks to be an absolute force. I mean, wow. They're basically a younger, faster version of the Celtics with better shooting and rebounding. Redick and Korver are absolutely going to light it up for 3 point land. Pierce and Ray have no hope of keeping up. Down low, Noah is going to give KG all kinds of headaches and even if Perk can't neutralize Boozer, he brings no offensive game of his own. And Rondo/Rose is pretty much a wash.

In essence, they outmatch us from virtually every position and I don't see any way we get past them with all the weapons they bring to the table. In fact, I like this team as a sleeper team to take out both us, The Super Heat and The Magic. Hell, they may even give the Lakers a run for their money (though I think the size of Gasol/Bynum will ultimately be the tipping point for the Lakers). I mean, really, how can we hope to beat this team? Even if our defense can slow them down, their rebounding, speed and 3 point power is going to do us in.

The best we can hope for is that this team does well enough in the regular season to wind up on the other side of the bracket. If them and the Heat can beat each other up enough before the have to face us, maybe we stand an outside chance of beating whichever team makes it out of that blood bath. The East is shaping up to be an absolute gunfight and the Celtics are bringing a walker.

So basically, the Celtics are old, just like everyone claimed they were last year when they ate up the East and were 4 points (or possibly a Kendrick Perkins) away from a championship, right?

Honestly....if I had a $1 for every time I've heard that, I'd probably be able to retire.

If the best you got is the Celtics are old, then that tells me I should feel good ab out the Celtics already.

Oh, and like many others, I'd also like to be educated on the alleged troubles the Bulls have given us over our "Big 3" era, especially considering I don't believe they've gotten past the 1st round in any of them.

Guys, why so many posts on such a dumb topic? Sure the Bulls are better and will give us some problems. However, to speak in absolutes and say we won't make it past them is utterly ridiculous.

Let's consider the source and his pessimistic past offerings...

Attacking my character for the way I express my opinion? Doesn't get much lower than that. The fact that I have more TPs than you in less than 1/4 of the posts speaks a lot more to what I bring to forum than what you do.
Never stop believing baby~

I'm not attacking your character, but there definitely needs to be a disclaimer to this thread given how negative you've consistently been in your pots.

Are TP's what you're after? If so, I just threw one your way. I would've thrown more, but I'm handcuffed by the 1 hr rule. BTW, I gambled all my TP's away in the NBA Finals. I guess you weren't as confident.

Eddie20 - C'mon man. No need for that. OP was just expressing his opinion, which we are free to do here.
