At the 46 second mark of this hostage video, the Russian says the Nets will win the title in 1 year minimum... 5 years maximum.

Then you have Dan Gilbert's hissy fit temper tantrum after his daddy dumped him...

Dan Gilbert:  "I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

Which delusional owner do you believe?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I like the Russian. He's got a good track record, and he's got money, and he's interesting. His mom has a tattoo on her arm that says son on it.

Prokhorov will easily win a championship before Dan Gilbert.  If the Nets don't blow there cap space on stupid signings (which they are doing... Travis Outlaw!)  they'll be able to attract very good players to there team when they move to Brooklyn and will still be a lottery team next year and most likey the next so they'll get to high draft picks the next two years and maybe they could make a trade like we did with the young talent they'll have.

Both teams will probably win the lottery multiple times befoer they even sniff the finals.

EASILY Mikhail.

New arena.
Great city.
Big market.
Good young players.

Cavs are in for a rough road, as in they may not be so awful to get a super draft pick, but not good enough to sniff the playoffs.

Atleast they are getting a few additional late first round picks in the next few years.

No players are going there unless greatly overpaid.

The Nets have better pieces and could be in contention in the next few years if they make some moves.

The Cavs have nothing going for them right now. When Mo Williams is your best player, you're in trouble.

Funny thread.

This is probably the most accurate although NJ has some talent.  The cavs will be in another city before they win a Championship.

: (

Lebron destroyed the cavs, the owner, and the city Cleveland all in 1 swoop.

I find it hard to imagine Cleveland ever winning a title under Dan Gilbert. At least the Nets have a small -- an I mean small (core isn't as good as it is made out to be, doubtful over Russian's patience to build team properly) -- chance of winning one under the Russian.

Cleveland had Lebron for 7 years and didn't win a title.

Anyone really see them winning something replacing him with two late 1st round draft picks?

The Nets easily, though it will be awhile since both these guys are in the East with the Celtics, the Bulls and the SuperHeat.  But the Cavs are gonna be very far from good for awhile.  The Nets almost have enough pieces to be an 8th seed in the playoffs next year.
