Shaun Livingston  PG/G  Gives us some height 6'7"
Jonathan Bender    F/PF  More lenght        6'11"
I think these guys would be great off the bench Livingston finally looks healthy , and Bender gives you some energy

Thoughts?

I like them as fall back options.

I want to see them go after Dorrel Wright.

Yes, there are still some quality FAs who could be available on the cheap.

Dorrell Wright would be one.  Others:
Ime Udoka
Damien Wilkins
Rasual Butler
James Jones (depending on his Miami situation)
Bobby Simmons
Josh Howard

Celtics fan for life.

Yes, some of these FA's are intriguing, but are the rumors about the pistons shopping tayshaun prince and rip true?  If they are, I'd love to see tayshaun instead of one of these guys.  He'd be a great player coming off the bench and can actually play some gritty defense.  I'd love him for sheed's contract and some picks.  I know the money doesnt match up quite right but danny can work his magic in a three way trade perhaps or some other way....

....got excited about tayshaun. woops

Is it a foregone conclusion that Shaq is going to the Heat? Are the celtics really not interested in him? We basically lost two critical bigs in wallace and perkins injury. We have replaced one and need another.

No way does a 25-year old athletic shooting wing coming off of a solid rotation role with a 47 win team sign with us for the minimum in a market like this.  As much as I wish it would happen, I can't see it.

One of his teammates is probably a more feasible option.  I know Q-Rich is despised by the Celtic fanbase, and for good reason, but he looks to me like the best cheap FA fit for the Celtics needs at the 3.

He shot 40% from the 3 last year on Eddie House like volume, remains one of the better rebounding wings in the league (5 boards in 27 minutes per last year), doesn't turn the ball over, and plays OK defense.

Not sure Jonathan Bender is even in the league any more.  He had great potential but got injured and haven't heard his name lately.

Bender played in NY last year. He looked like he gained some weight. 20 lbs. maybe. He looks more like a 4 than a wing player.

What about Raja Bell?  He's 34, but battle tested, a good defender, and a good shooter.  Other than age and size (only 6-5), he fits the bill quite nicely.

Agree,a healthy Raga Bell could be good to have on your bench, especially come playoff time.I can remember back a few seasons ago when he was one of few players gave Kobe fits,on both ends of the court. Its one thing to be one dimensional but he can score as well.

I heard Bell was considering, where else, Miami.

i'm disapointed there doesn't seem to be any athletic big guys available. JO is a decent fill in for perk, but i wish they could find a young athletic big to finish plays from rondo. i wonder what rondo could do if he didn't have to dish mainly to guys who all are fairly earth bound by nba standards (kg post injury, perk, and big baby)
