The Bulls continued to address their outside shooting needs late Friday by extending an offer sheet to restricted free agent J.J. Redick.

Redick averaged 9.6 points and shot 40 percent from 3-point land last season for the Orlando Magic.

While the terms of the Bulls' offer were not immediately known, a league source said "it would be painful for the Magic to match."

Earlier Friday, the Bulls came to terms on a three-year deal with Kyle Korver, who set and NBA record for 3-point percentage last season.

He would be a great fit for this team.  He gives them the outside shooting they need with the starters.  He brings some deep playoff experience.  Finally, he plays playoff level defense.

I'm really liking this Bulls team.  Boozer was an awesome addition, and Redick would be a great fit.  This is a secondary team for me to root for in the east.  Especially when they play Miami!

I like the fit but almost 7 mil a year? I guess they have to spend LeBron's money somehow

Has to be enough to make sure Orlando will not match.

I don't think that is an outrageous amount considering it is only a three year deal.  Not after the level of defense we have seen him play the last two postseasons against the Celtics.

I don't think it's outrageous, just on the pricier side.

I love what Chicago's doing. Boozer, Korver, Redick - all great moves and great compliments to their existing pieces. They still need to hope Rose becomes a true superstar but very, very impressive work building that team.

So the bulls have found their Hinrich replacement quickly. I think I rate this team a title contender with their moves so far, or at least one in the making.

The C's really do need to wrap up their FA pursuits soon.

The C's are done with FA (except vet mins and maybe Nate.) They are looking at trades (including sign and trades.)

Did JJ sign the sheet?

It's a good chance for JJ to be a starter but I think Orlando should match it. It's not like they are going to be under cap any time soon (another 3 years of Rashard's outrageous salary among other commitments) and JJ deserves it.

Still seems like a bit to me.  I haven't seen a new cap figure for them.  We'll have to see what it looks like when they're done spending.  I don't like these deals if they preclude them from trying to get one more max player next year.

I don't think what they have now is enough to win it all.  And if they box themselves in with role players, they may never have what it takes to do it.

Redick deal makes sense $$ wise, although Orlando will match it. He became their 3rd or 4th best player during playoffs vs. Boston. Plus, he plays O and D well, really spaces the floor, and is a killer ft shooter. He has really surprised me as a pro, I did not think he would do this well. Kudos to him, and the contract, he has earned it.

I think the Korver signing is a bit strange, though. I am surprised he commands that.

Good decision to overpay on a medium term contract while Rose is still on his rookie scale contract.

A starting five of Rose, Redick, Deng, Boozer and Noah will be very good. Gibson, Korver and Johnson to form the makings of a solid bench.

An excellent rebounding frontcourt. An inside-outside punch with Boozer and Rose, as well as a third scorer in Deng and a shooter in Redick. Redick has improved his ball-handling and passing tremendously in recent years and that is important because Rose needs some help in those areas still. Boozer and Noah are above average passers too so the Bulls can run some of their offense through the big men in the high post and elbows also. Solid defenders in the backcourt, although Redick is a bit vulnerable to size, very good defenders in Deng and Noah and a liability in Boozer. Should be enough to be a top ten defensive team.

Chicago have a nice team. They should be a contender.

Remember one thing about Chicago -- they have a head coach who has never been a head coach before. And, while he is a defensive genius, who knows what he is going to do sitting in the big chair.

Sounds like Orlando expected to match.

Don't get too pumped, Bulls' fans, on Redick -- nothing official from Orl, but other GMs expect Magic to match.
