Even if it seemed petty and vindictive, I liked the Gilbert letter. I want an owner who cares that much about his team (and I think Wyc does care that much).

Cavs aren't done, by any stretch. But, they need to be smart in how they go about retooling. I am curious to see how that takes shape.

And this is one thing Gilbert has to know: if signing and trading LeBron can improve the Cavs, he has to at least consider doing it.

exactly.  I think a letter of some kind was probably the right thing to do, but Gilbert's letter has done far more harm then good (coupled with all his interviews where he is just bashing lebron).

I assume Gilbert is bitter because he made a serious financial commitment to building a top team around Lebron. He also seems to feel that the team was good enough to win it all, but Lebron wasn't, and considers it a slap in the face for him to move because he supposedly has a better chance to win in Miami.
