I'm sure New Yorkers would have preferred a different former Cleveland player.

meh - Lee is a good, but overpriced and over hyped pitcher.  Sox need to get healthy, not worry about what the Yanks are doing.

Chances are they were going to sign him at the end of the year as AP's replacement anyway.

Interested to see what they have to give up to get him.

Yankees would give up a catcher prospect.

He has been one of the best pitchers in baseball for the past 3 years. Even more troubling for me as a Sox fan was watching him dominate in the post season last year. Big game pitcher.

I dont get why the Mariners would even negotiate with the Yanks to make them better. Why not just look to trade with the Twins or the Mets. Dumb.

He's surprised me this year.  I thought after coming back from the weak NL, he'd get knocked around in the AL.  However, the AL East is a totally different beast.  The three best teams in the league are in the East, and Toronto (if they didn't have to play the Yankees, Sox, and Rays nearly 60 times per year) could probably win most other divisions.

He may find that life isn't so easy.

But you'll watch basketball with the circus that just happened.  I love both sports but what the Heat exactly what the Yankees do too.

Not exactly.  The Yankees are far outspending everyone.  As much as I hate the Heat now, they're going to pay their Big Three less than we paid ours last year.  And our payroll will be higher than theirs this year.

They're doing it within the confines of the salary cap system, so we really can't complain on that account.

No that's a good point Jon.

This guy is proven IMO no matter what league he is in.

He won the Cy Young in the AL. He was only in the NL for a half season rental where he pitched his butt off in the playoffs.

Agreed the AL East is probably the toughest division but he will not have to face the best lineup in the AL East because he will be on the same team. Tampa and Boston win with pitching. Toronto's lineup doesnt scare me either.

I'm glad the Yankees weren't able to land Lee. Thank you, Texas! Seems like the Yankees are always in the mix to acquire a top pitcher in the trade market.
