If Shaq does do this and then it's a Lakers/Heat finals, do we all have to root for the Lakers???  I think we do, ugh.....

I would definitely root for Miami. They are already approaching Laker hate status though.

Buddy, I live in Miami and the same people that had no idea that they were even in the playoffs a couple of months ago are now cheering in the streets. I'm not joking either. Over a thousand people were celebrating at one Miami location like of they just won a title. I hate Miami fans. They bring new meaning to the term bandwagon!

Worst sports city in the nation IMO. Truly sad that city is going to get this new Heat team.

Wow. Figures. Coattails to the max. That's really pathetic -- he's just chasing another ring shamelessly.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

He just wants to be able to say: Kobe, tell me how my ass tastes.

...and I fully support him.

Become Legendary.

That's weird. I myself don't hope he wins, but then again, I am partial to the Celtics.

I like Shaq and all, and am kinda excited to see him team back up with Wade and be added to the super team... However, should Riley realize that Shaq and LeBron didnt exactly work out last year??

In actuality, Shaq is just positioning himself to be able to say that LeBron and Co. (I think that is what we should refer to the Heat as from now on) couldn't win a title without him.  Kobe proved him wrong, so now he's on to take two of Mission: Establish Legacy.

The NBA is starting to look more like showbiz then a sport after this move. The Lebron Summit and the LeBron "Decsion". The fact that his camp relased the plans of Bosh and Wade a day before LeBricks hour long special should raise some red flags. But no one is lookng at that.....great fans. Move over Wade, LeQueen is coming to your town soon.

And please take Shaq. Help us beat you.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
okay fans...let me get this straight:

- shaq signs with the celtics and he's awesome.

- shaq signs with the heat and he's an ****.

I have a hard time believing he takes the minimum.
I can see Shaq taking the minimum.

I reckon he is more concerned about his legacy / ego than his paycheck / ego.

What does being a role player on a title team do for the legacy of a player like Shaq? How much did winning a title with the Bulls affect Robert Parish's legacy?

I don't think it means anything. It certainly doesn't matter a [dang] thing to me.

I think it matters to Shaq though.

I just hope they add AI as their PG.  There is a guy that I would love to see frustrate the rest of them.
