but I actually feel really bad for Cavs fans right now.

This whole free agency dog & pony show has to be rough, but then the possibility of having your homegrown superstar get on a live, hour long TV special and dump you has to be unbareable.

I mean really, it must suck to be a Cleveland sports fan right now.

It's pretty much always sucks to be a Cleveland sports fan (because, for starters, that more or less implies you're from Cleveland), but I completely agree.
Celtics fan for life.

Yeah, but I'm going to have to see him dump Cleveland publicly to believe it. I still think he stays with the Cavs.

haha, I was trying to be nice here and extend an olive branch those poor Cleveland fans. They just seem to have no luck in sports.

Yeah what he's doing is awful to them.  At least he's going to announce his decision in the first ten minutes so he won't have to keep them waiting long.

I guess, but then you've got to dread the next 50 mins of him "thanking" the city and saying how "this isn't an opportunity I could pass up". Basically, it's gonna be a live, TV version of the "it's not you, it's me" speech.

I feel bad too. I grew up during the Bird era, and was crushed when we slid quickly into the role of laughing stock of the NBA. There were no real red sox and definitely no Patriots teams to fall back on either, and I was a fan of all three. So I can really relate to Cleveland fans if this happens...many of us on this board should, and remember that we too could be right back in that same situation in a couple of seasons, with all the Boston sports teams.

That would not have happened had Len Bias and Reggie Lewis died, especially Bias. He could have been Jordan's equal or better.

The Bruins were in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1990 they were good, but you're probably not a hockey fan which is not a problem at all some people just aren't fans of some sports.

True. Even though I grew up in New England, I never got into hockey--one winter sport at a time. Hockey to me is like watching soccer--which I played in school for 8 years--just not enough scoring on a regular basis to keep me interested.  The older I get the more I was baseball was only 7 innings...

Opportunities for CLE fans to enjoy being CLE fans have been rare, and I'm certainly no Queen James fan, but if he bolts the Cavs tonight, I'll feel really bad for CLE fans. If he leaves, the Cavs might as well relocate to another city and state.

Cavs ownership has tried to give James what he needs. I really hope he stays in Cleveland. Times are tough in that part of the country and I will certainly think less of him if he jumps ship. Miami is no lock to win anything just because they have 3 superstars. Seen that scenario fail before.
