Espn has it here too.

So Jermaine at under six mill per year or Haywood at 9 mill per year? Hmmm they are both basically the same age... Jermaine for two years or Haywood for six... O'Neal is a better scorer... hmmm... No brainer! I will take Jermaine!
Haywood is more durable, and probably less washed up. And younger.

More durable? He missed the entire 2008-09 season practically. Younger? Ok by one year, my bad. Less Washed up? Who cares we are asking Jermaine to be the fifth best guy on the court for us most of the season. Don't forget Darko got five million a year. Jermaine for this contract is a great deal in this market with the supply of centers available. Before you . . .  on this acquisition take into account all of the other variables in the equation.

Lol this is chess not checkers! Da is thinking beyond this year and keeping in mind the next CBA. Cuban is not.

30 vs 31. They are basically the same age. And Haywood missed almost the entire season with a serious wrist injury just a year ago. Six years and $55 million for him is ridiculous. When O'Neal is long gone from the Celts, the Mavs will still have a likely broken down Heywood on their books for over $9 million a season. The O'Neal deal makes so much more sense for any team. Never give 30 and older centers more than two years unless they are a special player like Duncan. And the very mediocre Heywood is not.

When they are both healthy, O'Neal is the much better player. Not even close. O'Neal was better last year.

Wow, I was hoping to land him but assumed we wouldn't be able to afford him with just the MLE...but what astounds me more than anything is that they'll be paying him $9 million in 2015 when he's 37 years old.  A little overkill Dallas.

Wow, that is a long contract.

If that was only a four year contract (for $36-40 million) that would be a fair deal for Dallas.

Well done Haywood. I didn't think he'd get this type of payday so late in his career (31 at the start of the season). Happy for him. Nice.

Now imagine what a healthy Perk will most likely get next season.
Yeah, this Haywood contract is very bad news for Perkins' next deal.

At least there will be more big man talent on the market next season with Oden, Noah and Horford.
