Apparently Kobe's comments after the finals didn't sit to well with the diesel. Troy stradford who does a local radio show down here said Shaq has been working behind the scenes to bring this whole thing together and will join the heat as well. Stradford seemed pretty sure of this. If this happens I may seriously go off the deep end.

Wonder if he has enough pride to sign for the minimum.

I think this past season has showed that Shaq is not a good fit for LeBron.  Also, what did Kobe say?

I think that could be an issue.

Now it's possible they may have more to offer, depending on how things work out.

However, I've been thinking about this sign and trade business with Bosh.  Given that Miami only has two players officially under contract and that even with LeBron, Miami still would have some cap room, is it possible that rather than demanding players from Miami, Toronto might ask to shed some salary.  Perhaps they make them take Jarret Jack and Bosh in exchange for a pick and Mario Chalmers.  It gives them a cheap backup point guard, and clears Jack's nearly 6 million dollar salary to put them only at 30 millionish for next year.

If that's the case, it really will have to be a Shaq for the minimum deal.

Troy Stradford? As in former BC running back from the mid-80s, Troy Stradford?

Hmm, 16.6 *3 = 49.8 million

James Jones' remaining cap number: 1.54
Joel Anthony's QO: 1.06
Chalmers : 850k

53.25 + (450k*7) = 56.4

They have nothing for wiggle room even if they get rid of Beasley somehow.

Honestly I expected this. It wouldn't surprise me if Shaq signed for the vet min. to go back to Miami.

Actually would create same issues in Miami as at Cleveland. Shaq clogging up the middle will just get in the way of Wade and Lebron so not a problem as far as the C's are concerned.

It’s been in the back of my head too.

Kobe just smugly/gratifyingly said he's got more rings than Shaq. Shaq for sure would want to even the score. His best chance is to sign with Boston or Wade's team.

Popped into my mind too--couldn't have missed Shaq's.

I'd expect to see them go after a jump shooting center who will stay out of the way.  Maybe brad miller
hey remember when the lakers had gary payton, kobe, karl malone etc
here is to the miami heat ending up like that
