LeBron goes to Heat:

1)  Only 1 Ball on that team. Seriously, who is going to be the man?  Last minute shot goes to Wade, does it not?  Let the second guessing begin.

2) I'd rather have to beat 1 Miami (with Bosh, Lebron and Wade)than Miami (w/ Bosh and Wade) and Cleveland (with Bron).

3) This is the best team to root against ever.  Who would want to see these prima donna win?  Would they be the most hated team in history? I think I'd rather see the Lakes win than these guys.

Regarding #1 I think Wade is the natural go to person here but just like our team it can be someone else depending on the circumstance.   These guys proved to be unselfish for team USA basketball and they seemed to genuinely enjoy playing that way.   Wade and Lebron are very good passers and I could see some Oscar like triple doubles from either one of them.

Also they will actually be able to run an offense like us.   The Wade and 4 guys standing around and especially the Lebron and 4 guys standing around ugly offense probably won't happen. As they get older playing with each other will be easier on their knees and not carrying such a heavy load.

I hope this doesn't happen.

Now THAT is a true celtics fan. Other teams come and go, wax and wane ... but the lakers are forever evil.  ;D

Tp for a true celtics fan.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I agree on the Faker hate. We don't want LBJ in Miami with Wade and Bosh. Sure, their bench will be porous, but in the playoffs, those guys will be tough to beat. This would be a team to fear.

I hope LBJ goes to NY. It would be good for the NBA, the Knicks would be fun to hate again, would be a bigtime division rival, but they won't challenge immediately. If they get Carmello next off-season, then it's on.

I do not fear NY with just LeBron and Amare, or Miami with Wade and Bosh.

With our core in tact and possibly signing JO and Kwame, along with trading Sheed's deal for a nice wing, I still think it's Boston and Orlando in the east.

We need to sign Both Kwame and JO,imo. If we get those guys, when Perk comes back, we have supreme depth with our bigs. We will have more big bodies to put on Howard, and to match up with the Fakers.

I am pumped to see how DA uses Sheed's deal and how we fill out the roster.

Want LeBron to go to New York, New Jersey, or to stay in Cleveland.

He stays in Cleveland - we've see that team isn't good enough, and their options for improving are severely curtailed due to the  dumb contracts they have on the books.

New York; Amare doesn't scare me as his running mate THAT much, the rest of the team is mostly a mess, and D'Antoni teams will never, ever, ever play a lick of D.

New Jersey; you've got to like Brook Lopez long-term, but Devin Harris took a step back last year, and the rest of the team is either empty or sucks.

The teams that make me nervous...  Miami.  The rest of the roster is a huge pit, they have no size other than Bosh, but when you have two of the three best players in the League starting, you're going to be a hard team to beat.

Chicago; I like Rose better than Devin Harris, he should get better with some (likely) improved coaching.  They'll be a great defensive team with Noah, Deng, and LeBron.  Didn't want Thibs to replace Doc if Doc had walked, but think Thibs has a chance to have some success there (the Bulls were a pretty [dang] good defensive team when Skiles was in charge).

So, rooting for the Knicks, the Nyets, or the Cavs tonight.

unless we can somehow win more regular season games then Miami, it would mean we have to beat both Orlando and Miami and I'm not a fan of that.

Early prediction on the playoff seeding

1. Miami
2. Orlando
3. Boston
4. Chicago
5. Atlanta
6. Milwaukee
7. Cleveland
8. Philadelphia

Not a fan of having to go through Milwaukee, Orlando, and Miami just to hit the Lakers.

I'd much rather have Lebron stay in Cleveland because then I think the seeding looks more like this

1. Orlando
2. Cleveland
3. Miami
4. Boston
5. Chicago
6. Atlanta
7. Milwaukee
8. Philadelphia

Chicago is a toughter first round matchup for sure, again Orlando in round 2, but Cleveland/Miami in the ECF is much more doable.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

No question, the Lakers will always be hated more than any other team.  In the unlikely event that Miami (with LBJ, Wade, Bosh) make it to the finals vs. the Lakers, I'll be rooting for Miami, and it will be one of the easier decisions in my life.

Now, I still think that LBJ ends up back in Cleveland, with an outside chance he ends up in New Jersey, and a bit more of a remote chance that he ends up in Miami.
Celtics fan for life.

Don't think he ends up in Miami. I just think it's a ploy to add drama to the announcement. James' people are purposely leaking this information, but expect James to go to NY or stay in Cleveland. With NY being the favorite IMO.

I'm kinda hoping Lebron goes to the Knicks too, just because I think it would be more fun like you said. How would it work if they got Carmelo next year? Him and Lebron play the same position, no? I wonder how that would work out.

If you want to see LeBron fail, hope he stays in Cleveland.  Also, I'd say New York and New Jersey have plenty of opportunities for him to fail, especially early on.

Miami worries me.  This isn't combining Melo, Durant, and Bosh, this is combining two more willing passers and Bosh, which might actually work.  And while we mock Bosh's jump shot, it was KG's jump shot that actually helped the C's as it stretched opposing defenses making it harder to collapse on Pierce and Allen.

Still, they'll have trouble this year rounding out the roster, which is good for our last stand.  And none of them are very good jump shooters, which was part of our recipe for success.  And while you can argue that their Big Three was superior to even our original Big Three, there's no Rondo (and no hope of a Rondo) and they don't even have a Perk or Posey for this year.

Are we talking about playoff matchups right now? How about we fill out some rosters first.
