I hope we get both Tony and Nate back. That would be huge. I like Nate off the bench, and as Rondo insurance.

Still would not mind if Sheed changed his mind and came back. He matches up well against the Lakers. Let's face it, the road to 18 will go through LA.

Darn, really was hoping it wasn't the full MLE. Oh Well we had to get a Center! He was realistically our best option.

Where were you for the past three hours lol.

Now let's trade Sheed for a scoring wing or guard!

We better get something good in return for Rasheed's contract.  Otherwise I would have rather Sheed stay and us use the MLE on a wing.

The answer is Miller. Give him 4 years at 7.5 per in exchange for Sheed's deal, a second round pick and cash going to Washington.

Would absolutely, absolutely, absolutely LOVE for this to happen.  Might even consider making that a heavily protected first rounder.  If 'Sheed will agree to a $2M buyout, send Washington $3M for their efforts.

Hell, do a second trade.  Re-sign Sheldon Williams for a vet min contract, and send him and $3M cold, hard cash for a 2025 second round pick.  Another $2M in the owner's pocket.  Whatever it takes!

So overall where does this project the C's to budget wise?

I got the big four costing about the same as last year.

The rest of the bigs:
Baby, Perk, JO, and a vet min guy will be about what Baby, Perk, Sheed, and Sheldon made

Then you have Eddie/Nate, Tony, and Scal - these leaving would pay for whoever we bring back with a Sheed and friends deal.

Guys like AB/Harangody/Emer probably wash with Daniels, Finley, Hudson and anyone I'm forgetting from last year.

Their acting like they have a two year window - whatever they do with Sheed's deal tells you if they are serious, because they have the money (assuming they could afford last year's tax bill.) I actually think at the margins they come out ahead on each of those groups, so they may have a smaller payroll and the tax line went up, so they could save ~10 million over last year.

While some might be upset that it's the full MLE, considering Haywood got nearly 10 million per year, we can see the going rate for starting centers is high.

He'll make an above average starting center and a phenomenal backup center.

It's become easier and easier every day to convince myself that this was a good thing...and it is.  What they got, for what they paid, is definitely all around in the best interest of this ball club.

We definitely still need some front court depth though.

If we had O'Neal for game 7 things probably turn out different. I'm assuming we will get to test that theory  next Spring. Also we need another banger. Brad Miller would have been fine, this is finer. We now know these guys can turn it on when needed so lets play them conservatively this season. Hell after the season is over there's still a third of a season left. Hopefully.

Oneal is a decent Sheed replacement. Now we need a wing.

O'Neal is better than Haywood, and we got him for much less. Just another example of Cuban overpaying/over-reacting.

Guys, We will be lucky if Perk is back before the All-Star break, and I am telling you right now, he will not be the same player until the NEXT season. I have seen too many athletes undergo this reconstructive surgery. Coming back physically is difficult enough for a normal sized athlete, let alone a 6-foot-10, 280 pound guy.

Coming back mentally from this injury is just as difficult, if not more so than the physical part.

I am glad we signed JO, even at the full MLE. I am hoping we can add Kwame for the vet min or work in a S&T for him and a wing player.

What a bad signing. This guy has made zero impact for the raptors and miami while being paid big bucks. He is finally earning closer to what he is worth but i still would have not signed him.

What happened to getting Brad Miller??

Ainge is killing me

I can understand not liking JO, but preferring Brad Miller?  BM is older, not as good a defender and was less productive last season.

Call me crazy, but I actually like this signing. As long as he does not stand around on the court like Blount, it will be a plus to our team. I for one think he will have more value then any of the other options out there.

Options like Shaq and Miller...Watching Shaq and Rondo shoot free throws would have given me nightmares for a year. Looking at Brad Miller would not have made me any happier.

That is all this guy does which is stand around wait for a pass and shoot jumpers. He doesn't run hard, dive for balls, play in the dirty areas to get an important rebound. He was obsolete vs us in last years playoffs. He shot in game 5 something like 5 for 24. That is the dumbest and selfish thing a player can do

He is like Blount but 2 inches shorter.

He is not the modern celtic player

Ainge and Rivers have serious compatibility issues. Most guys Ainge has fed to Rivers, Rivers has usually shut them down on the bench.
