On his D, he's been an adequate defender the challenge has been maintaining intensity while carrying the O - could he make a Ray Allen type change? Reduced minutes and smaller O load - would he be able to channel the energy into his D? He clearly has the physical tools (assuming knee is back) and know how to defend...

Yes - I think assuming he's healthy, he'd be better than Posey. He's as good of a shooter, better at everything else. The only place Posey was better was D intensity, which I think T-Mac could make up for with his overall versatility on O and reduced minutes / load to increase defensive output.

Again - I'm only a fan after you have fixed the big rotation and after trying better options, if you end up with Nate and TA as your backup wings/guards.

I'm with this one, I would like TMac on this team for a portion of the MLE if we are also able to get Shaq

I think TMac can be used effectively if his minutes are monitored to be 20-25 minutes behind Ray Allen

Advantage: Ray Allen can get more rest so he doesnt hit fatigue early...look at playoffs  :(

I believe TMac still has it in him, he was limited in NY so we weren't able to see what he was capable of after coming off from surgery and resting too long

I'm not bashing this idea, or anyone else for the hypotheticals, but I can't wait till we are discussing players that are actually joining the celtics. I keep checking here for breaking news :(

why not go after tmac? Sure he isnt the same tmac he use to be but i think giving him a vet min im all for it because we all no including him knows, he wont get a starting role on a contender so he might as well come off the bench for us...that would help us big he can bring a very big and needed offensive punch off the bench...

tell me what yall think?

Do people think Avery Bradley is another Darko Millicic or something? Bradley CAN play SG at the NBA level, and putting him as the #4 guy will REALLY hamper his potential. We have enough SGs.....

yes but bradley will take a year or two to develop into a SG who can contribute to a championship team, he is a rookie. Unfortunately, we need someone that will contribute significantly right now, we only have one or two years left with this group. Bradley will be great when Ray and KG's contracts run out.

Why does it have to take a year or two? I NEVER use the "he's a rookie" excuse for anyone. This guy definitely is NBA-ready in my books, and he can provide the Celtics with a scorer off the bench who can defend the perimeter VERY well.

If that is the case, he can win a role off the Celtics bench.

But the Celtics have a limited 2 year window.  Make sure there is someone on the bench to fill the roles.  Don't just hope a rookie will.

If Bradley doesn't work, we still got Tony Allen. Either way, we don't need 4 SGs. Just bring Back Eddie House, and get some value for Rasheed's contract and we're set.

No.

The Celtics do need a SF.

It looks like the G rotation of Rondo, Ray, TA, Nate and Bradley.  Chances are, the SF they get will play either a little PF or SG.  (most likely SG)

Bradley will have to beat out TA or Nate (or another vet they probably would look to bring in the be the backup PG) for minutes.

If he'll take the minimum, it's a no brainer.  We don't need him to be a star, we need him to score 10+ ppg off the bench so Doc can rest Ray and Paul.  If he can do that, it's a good deal.

I say go for it!!!!! It would be better then Josh howard. He can defend and was just coming back loast year off of surgery. he should look better and can score. T-Mac wants to feel the love similar to LeBrick. He can feel that coming of the beanch as the 6th man and our score on the second unit. He will be allowed to score and put out there to score. he will play extra in crunch time when we need a shooter and well have reduced minutes saving his legs from further injury. He can get on a hot strek and can play some good team D. He's not going to hurt us at all.....He has the most upside of any SG/SF out there right now. i would swoop him up be for the "superteam" does. I'd rather him help us then hurt us.... Hey, as long as he can buy into the system he'll be fine. This cat was crazy back then. Anyways, Boston seems to bring out the best in old men ;D

Most news has been that T-Mac is looking at the Lakers. Should we try and get him just to prevent them from doing it?
