Does this guy know something, or is he just speculating?  He didn't spend any time on it, it was a passing comment.  I'd have thought Ray was "probably" staying, unless someone thinks he'll chase the money elsewhere, which would be unlike him.

Also, same radio show, different topic.  Does anyone know what an unnamed LeBron teammate did to LeBron during the Cs series that caused LeBron to quit on his team?  Cowherd said he had confirmed the story but ESPN wouldn't let him air it, that LeBron felt personally "burned" by a teammate during that series.

(I love how the national media seem to always look for reasons other than Celtic defense for LeBron's frustration during that series...)

The guy is just speculating.  That is all he does.  He isn't an insider or anything.

He never says anything with confidence.

I like guys who go out of their way to make bold predictions and if they're wrong they obviously acknowlege it.

This guy seems to have one foot on both sides of the fence, much like Broussard with Lebron's free agency decision.

I don't think he knows anything.   And he was referring to the Delonte West getting involved with Lebron's mom.  There's been a story about them having an affair that LBJ didn't know about.

I like Cowherd, but I don't think he deals with inside information.  I imagine he was just putting out his opinion on his talk radio show.

He didn't reach his current level of "popularity" for his hard-line, fact-based reporting ... he reached it by being a flamboyant loud-mouth who likes to stir any pot he can.

I wouldn't lose sleep over anything this guy throws into the rumor mills. That said, I think it's about 50/50 at this point, though I'm crossing my fingers, and saying a prayer or two.

I honestly don't even want to think about this team without him ... and no more "Big Three"?!? Ouch!

These are the same idiots that will link Ray to Cleveland if LeBron re-signs, despite the fact that they won't have anymore than the MLE to spend.

The guy is just speculating.  That is all he does.  He isn't an insider or anything.

Yup.  And ussually he is pretty clear that it is his opinion, and his opinion alone.

Yup.  And ussually he is pretty clear that it is his opinion, and his opinion alone.

In this particular case, he was rattling off what the conference would look like, ie, the pecking order if LeBron goes to the Super-Heat.  He used it in a list of reasons why the Super-Heat would dominate the East.  It was NOT clear at all that it was his opinion, he just said, "Allen is probably leaving Boston, the Knicks don't have a point guard," etc, etc

I'd just gotten up in the morning, and it woke me right up!

But it does sound like he's just tossing crap out there without knowing anything.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
The guy is a blowhole who likes to yap.

Agreed...  I really can't stand the guy.  He's not even an "nba guy" so I would take what he says with a grain of salt.
