the number of quality free agents we could target in a few years is dropping rapidly. Ainge's decision to give Pierce 4 years is looking better and better.

It would have been lovely if Durant left Oklahoma high and dry like they franchise did to the city of Seattle.

If there's any player in the League who needs to player in a bigger media market, it ain't LeBron; it's Kevin Durant.

Man, I'm happy for Durant and OKC.  Look at the background pic of his twitter, its him, I think Jeff Green, and I cant see the third teammate with their arms around eachother.  Then read some of his below tweets:

Quote
"Exstension for 5 more years wit the #thunder....God Is Great, me and my family came a long way...I love yall man forreal, this a blessing!"
It truly is a blessing to be as gifted as he is.  Nice that he realizes and appreciates it.  Lebron thinks he is the one blessing others to allow them to court him.

Quote
"I just like to watch basketball, I jus love basketball.that's why I go to the draft and to summer league and all that stuff.that's all it is"

"Make sure yall check out my bros today on NBAtv against the Charlotte Bobcats at 3..after that ima try in go to disney land.I'm so ecstatic!"

"Got my thunder polo on ready to cheer my teammates on in summer league"
I don't think there's a single other big name superstar cheering on his teammates at summer league.

Now if only his written English was a little better haha (who am I to criticize!).  But really, this guy gets it.  And at such a young age too.  I think OKC is gonna be my new fave non-celts team.

Good.

They got a good thing going there. Nice young nucleus and a strong fan base.

I like Durant. Seems down to Earth.

He's gonna start winning MVP's soon.

KD is quickly becoming my favorite non-Celtic - seeing him at the Summer League, really excited to get back to work

I do worry this team is going to have trouble building around him though - OKC is not a choice FA destination and they'll be a solid 40-50 win team for a while so low draft choices...

I'm glad for Durant. The guy only cares about basketball and winning, he is not all business like LeBron, and instead of hyping up his name he just signed an extension and mentioned he was happy.

KD is my favorite player not wearing green. He seems like a guy that I would hang out with.

I really hope that by the time he reaches his peak (not even close yet btw) that the media doesnt turn him into Lebron II.

At one point I thought James was a nice down to earth person also.

No ESPN special for KD's contract?

Nope and no long range, calculated plan to make yourself the center of the universe years ahead of time either.
Yup

I do look forward to an Olympic/National team featuring a front line of Howard, Lebron, and Durant.

while i don't mind the pierce signing, i don't like the length of the contract.  i hope we find that the 4th year is a team option year.
