I wouldn't do it I'm seriously unimpressed with Bosh as a player. I don't see him as a game changer or a guy who can dominate games. I don't know why he's being mentioned with Lebron and Wade when his teams almost never sniff the play-offs in a weak eastern conference.

I agree completely.

He's kind of like a younger KG without the eyepopping athleticism, rebounding, defense, post moves and leadership.

In other words, a soft jumpshooting big.
a soft jump shooting big that has gone for 22+/10+ three of the last four seasons.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

But he's not worth Rondo.

Bosh clearly can't carry a team by himself.  Rondo might not be able to either (we'll have to wait and see).  I'll take maybe being able to carry a team over clearly not able to.

As for why people are obsessed with this idea of trading Rondo: he's really our only valuable commodity.  Most realistic blockbuster would have to involve him.  Hence, you want to make up a realistic blockbuster, he needs to be included.  And in the offseason especially, the imagination runs wild.

Other than being impossible under the rules of the CBA due to Rondo's Base Year Compensation I wouldn't do this trade because it causes more problems than it solves.

On the other hand, I would send KG to Toronto in a sign and trade for Bosh in a heartbeat. Yeah, maybe KG bounces back and is somewhat better next year than he was this year but over the next 6 years Bosh will be a star and KG will probably be retired for 4 of those years.

Rondo might be the best contract in the NBA. The skill to money ration is insane... He’s a top 5 for his position, considered by many to be the best player on a team that was 1 game from a championship... and he’s making an average of 11 Per Year...

why would you trade that?

I think there is a 50% chance we get a Renaissance year from KG this year and maybe 25% next year. I wouldn't make the trade for that reason. Bosh + KG not a good pairing in the front court rotation, and then if you have a great year from KG, you don't have the PG to capitalize.

What?.... Rondo and Sheed for Bosh? That leaves us with Pierce, Perk, and 3 power forwards, 2 of which play incredibly similar games only one is more washed up... What an awful idea.

Toronto could knock us out of the playoffs. What is they made the right call on Amir Johnson?

I think the last think you want to do is trade Rondo.

Couldnt have said it better... Rondo is the future of the Celtics franchise... You wanna trade him for a max contract to fill a position that is already filled by one of the greatest to ever play it? I yi yi.

You my friend must be outside your mind

This is now a pointguard driven league and you would trade your very own up and coming, massive potential-filled starting pointguard for a big man who in my opinion is slightly overrated in the first place?

Good thing you're not the Celtics GM.

I would rather have NOAH than Bosh! Trading him for Rondo is, in my opinion, not smart at all. Let alone including more in the package.

Nah, I'll stick with our lil' fella.

If the Celtics traded Rhondo for Chris Bosh I would be outraged and I would throw my television through the window if I saw the news about the trade on television, and if I saw the news on the internet, I would flush my computer down the toilet or throw it on the ground and spit on it.  If I saw the news on the radio I would kick the radio in the balls and throw it out the window.

No way.  First of all, it's a terrible fit.  Bosh is a alightly better version of KG at this point, so we would have two similar players who would struggle playing together and no point guard to get them easy looks.  Second, Bosh just isn't that great.  He's a good player and puts up big numbers, but I would bet my life that he will never lead a team to a championship.  He's not a good post up player, hes abysmal on defense, and hes just soft in general.  IMO giving him a max contract is crazy.  He can't even get to the playoffs in the Eastern confererence, and its not like KG in Mnnesota, he has some decent teammates.  Calderon, Bargnani, Turkoglu, DeRozan, and Jack are all pretty solid supporting guys.  Bosh just isn't a franchise player.

I would offer Toronto sign and trade Rondo and Rasheed for Bosh.
They would get Rondo locked up for 5 years at resonable money and cap relief with Rasheed contract. They will not get better value for Bosh.

Unfortunetly we cant get a superstar without giving up one.
Rondo is great but I would prefer bolstering our front line with a stud Power Forward. I would roll with possibly Nate, Tony or Bradley at the point. thoughts?

Great great idea my friend, I love it.... wait. This is a Toronto Raptors fan forum, right?
