I really liked this kid demeanor. I watched our three bigs in Summer League and Kravtsov impressed me the most. A legit 7-footer that plays hard and gives a crap.

I didn't saw that kind of hustle from Parakhouski or Erden. If he develops some post moves he could definitely play in the NBA.

Yeah I liked what I saw from him too. He has a bit of a mean streak in him and I think he has the potential to develop into an NBA player in a couple years.

For a second I thought he was hurt when he started grimacing, wrong. The other team scored an easy bucket. He got little Perk in him.

Not a bad first 16 minutes of US ball: 7 pts, 6 boards, 3-4 shooting.  Seemed quite mobile, sometimes almost bordering on fluid.

Kravstov is the one I'm watching too.  I thought he ran the floor really well.  He was able to fill the lane on a few breaks, which is something that few centers are capable of.  He looked to be very active on the glass.  He has legit NBA size, coupled with athleticism, a high motor and heart.  What's not to like?  Sure he's still raw at this point, but the potential is definitely there.  I'm really anxious to see more of this kid.

Wow. Guess I missed that part. Just saw him get a bunch of turnovers on interference and 3 second calls. Way out of position. Yeah he was upset when he didn't get a block; but that was because he was way out of position and the rim was in the way. Really a project to say the least.

Any idea what happened with Erden or are they alternating.

I thought Kravtsov was awful. No idea where to stay on defense, walking defensive 3-second violation, no skills to speak of. He's not ready to help any time soon (if at all), and doesn't look the type of project that Ainge and Doc are interested in.

Disclaimer: I missed the 4th quarter, but I doubt he metamorphed into the second coming of Wilt Chamberlain there.

The thing is we're looking for potential with this three guys. They're not NBA players right now, but you have to show something that can make you develop into one. And I saw that from Kravtsov. Parakhouski also has a real basketball skill (rebounding), contrary to Erden (hope I'm wrong). But Kravtsov runs the floor, likes to compete and has heart. That's a good starting point when you're a 22-year-old center.

And yes, I think they're alternating because it's tough to play every day. But Danny and Austin can also be protecting Erden after that awful first game.

Why would he have tried to have sex with thousands of women during the fourth quarter???  ???

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Exactly. He's a legit 7-footer (Erden and Parakhouski seem like 6-11's) and doesn't seem robotic. Everyone said Erden's first game was bad because he was tired, he'd been on a plane from Turkey, he hadn't trained, bla bla bla. But what about Kravtsov?

He may have heart, but his fundamentals are horrible.  He is at least 2-3 years from being anything close to a contributor in the NBA.  He has no clue about rotations, his footwork is terrible, and he set some of the worst screens I have ever seen.

He is an intriguing prospect because of his length and athleticism, but he is too much of a project for my taste.

Parakhouski is 6'11" 1/2 in shoes, as per Draft Express measurements (if I remember correctly). Erden is smaller.

I wouldn't put too much into height. Remember Bruno Sundov? He was 7'2. I'll still have Glenn Davis instead.

Ditto. There was one horrible play in particular, where he set a useless screen _behind_ the opponent player (our guard couldn't even go in this direction), and even got promptly called for an offensive foul on the play for setting up too close.

He's just not at the stage where he can be useful to a veteran team. From this perspective, based on what I've seen in the first two days, Lafayette and Gaffney still have the best chance to make the roster, and Carroll and Parakhouski are a close second.

Are you not counting Harangoudy?  Because I think he is almost a lock to make the C's.  He has some major questions about how effective he will be against NBA competition, but I think he is the one guy you could throw out there right now, and while he may not be able to do as much as he is doing in the summerleague, he will hold his own.

  • You say when......
So, lets see...what is OUR scouting report....what, did you see..... a guy play ONE game....even if it was a great amount of 2....stop eating minute rice will you..... We've seen pro's over the years have bad games, lost games..look for the good, look for the potential in someone..from what I've read here, if you had your way, you wouldn't have anyone in camp...for once i go with management here, THEY found these guys, saw potential, maybe will work with them...did you say bbd, or the other 6'8" guy.....right...where you going with that...? Short term memory...we got beat with those guys, we need 7 footers, 2 or 3...isn't that right..?   Can bbd play above the rim..? Perk did good because he is 7 feet, not the best educated center we had...perk can cover guys that come to him,but his offense keeps reverting back high school......then also look at guys like theo ratliff...always had skills, really bad attitude...better to build your own house than live in someone else's.......We try these guys, we keep the rights to them....maybe we get a return on our investment...basketball isn't rocket science, look at how Yao Ming turned into a player, he was always tall, he wasn't always bball savvy...! Give a man a chance, it will say more about you and your character...!
