Gaffney and Harangody both competing for the Scal spot. Gaffney can play more 3 and Haragody more of a banger. If Gaffney can learn to play D he has a chance. Harangody is kind of like Charles Barkley without the hops in terms of size and position.

Gaffney was Defensive Player of the Year at UMass so I wouldn't think that D will be an issue.

Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Gaffney is long and athletic.  I don't think D will be his issue.  What I see missing from his game is a jumpshot.  He was routinely pulling a "Perk" when he got the ball on the perimeter and passing it along, not even considering a shot.
