i don't have an opinion, because, i'm not watching the game.  however, how can people be saying that he's a stiff (paraphrasing) after one summer league game.  i recall how we christened other players as the next coming after summer league games only to see them bounced out.

Players Who Impressed Me:

Oliver Lafayette - Was the best player on the floor IMO. Ran the team extremely well.

Luke Harangody - Simply made open shots and stayed within his game. Fortunately he got a lot of set shots. Great game offensively but didn't stand out otherwise.

Jaycee Carroll - Hit some difficult shots and seems like a gunner in the Eddie House mold but a lot of ill-advised shots as well.

Just OK:

Ryan Thompson - Started off shakey but slowed down and was solid the rest of the game showing a knack for getting to the foul line.

Rodney Green - Started off strong but his lack of PG skills showed as the game progressed.

Not Impressed At All:

Tony Gaffney - Was erratic and didn't seem to settle in at all during the game. I don't really see what position he will play because he definitely is not skilled enough for the SF position and definitely not big enough for the PF position.

The Bigs - All of them just got outplayed in every facet of the game. Nuff said.

Erden looks pretty awkward. Harangody and Oliver look OK. Only problem is Erden is signed already and does not look like he will be able to contribute.
We can only hope that his lack of playing time with the team had something to do with it.  He does seem fairly mobile for a big man.

He did not look mobile at all. He looked like he had cannon balls chained to his ankles.

Only caught the last two minutes of the third and all of the fourth quarter.

From the little I saw, Erden looked S O F T.  Art at least bangs, holds his position and rebounds.  Mullens just thoroughly abused Erden.

Just very limited first impressions though.  Still, soft is soft.  Art might have a chance of sticking.

I hope Erden's contract is not guaranteed.

I think Erden's conditioning had a lot to do with him playing soft. You could tell he just did not have the energy to play hard for very long. Still a poor game from him.

Don't know about his energy, but he had no idea how to play defense or rebound.

Yeah he pretty much couldn't have played worse but I'll give the benefit of the doubt because he was the only player who didn't get to practice and he has never played American basketball. That's all I'm saying. I don't want to come down too hard on a player I have seen play only once.

Why did OKC played a lot of NBA players?

OKC knows that Harden can play, so play your draft picks, or invited players...
I think Summer League is great for players like Harden and Ibaka.

It gives them an opportunity to play a much larger role out on the court, more of a go-to guy and/or leadership role out on the floor. Highlights their weaknesses, the areas they need to focus on to become that level player in the NBA. Tells them what they need to work on for the rest of the summer.

Excellent situation to learn and develop.

Do I need to start a " Danny sign Art Parakhouski" forum so Danny can sign this kid.
I watched summer league and the kid did not have a 2001 shaq type game but he impressed me a lot he got a stat line of 4pt,10reb.
but he only played like 20 minutes or some thing. What i seen of his post up game was good, he has a nice feel around the basket, he has that Gortat sort of game.
Send Semih back to turkey and sign ART Danny. He got potential to get even better, he could fill shelden's spot right now.
Oliver and Gody already earned their spots, with their huge games today, to me gody can already fill scal's spot.
We lost but the ones that need to be ashamed is OKC cause they had like 5 starters playing and only beat us by 2.

Great point. No practice, no playing American ball. Certainly that factors into it.

He definitely played like a European big. I don't think he can help out much this year. I don't think he could handle the physical nature of the game. I don't know what his ceiling is, but in terms of someone coming in for a few minutes this year just to play defense and grab a couple rebounds, I'll take Art. But definitely we need two additional bigs that can play, assuming that Shelden comes back. I mean realistically, Perk isn't going to do much this coming year once he does come back.

So unless Danny can pull a center out of his hat, it appears the center position is going to be one of committee.

Why didn't Cole Aldrich play?

That is disappointing. Aldrich was the only reason I was going to watch the game later on.

NBA players - Harangody, Lafayette
Borderline - Carroll

Everyone else will be playing overseas or in the NBDL. Gaffney stood out as the worst player on the floor on either squad. Cut the bum from the summer league team and get someone else out there with his minutes.

Cole won't officially be a Thunder until the FA signings can happen on July 8th because they used their eventual cap room to take on MoPete and the pick.

And only 2 things I was impressed with for Semih were his size and mobility.

Since his signing wasn't announced until today, I've been looking at articles to see if he has recently arrived in the US so that any lack of energy could be attributed to jetlag.  The best I could find is that he attended at least one practice over the weekend, but didn't play because of a delay in documents.

Until this detail is nailed down, I think Erden deserves a little leeway in evaluating his potential.

Watched part of the Indiana game earlier today.  I think Bird might have got the steal of the draft in the second round in Lance Stephenson.  He really looked NBA ready.
