Thought I'd find some discussion on this today and NOTHING that I've found...was a bit surprised.  Harangody, Erden, and possibly another player fighting for a few spots on this roster (that would bring some good dialogue) and not a sentence.

Have I missed the right place to go?  :)

Harangody looks good so far. The team overall looks well coached, or as well as you can expect a summer league team to look in the first game. Great defense and good ball movement. Art P. looks very raw so far. He looks like he doesn't know where he should be on offense or defense. Erden a non factor up to this point.

I'm watching it.  LaFayette has been the best player on the floor.

LaFayette looks great.

How are the Celtics winning? OKC has 3 rotation players on that playoffs team. And I think 4-5 1st round picks on their roster.

Score 31-16 Celtics up. Lafayette impressed so far. Running the point to perfection.

Exactly my thoughts; but I guess as usual, Boston Celtics perform their best when considered underdogs.

And yes Lafayette has been pretty amazing so far.

Erdin looks very mobile. Harangody can bang and shoot. Carroll can really shoot too. Lafayette looks good.

Nice pass from the high post by Erdin...

Lafayette is outshining Maynor by a mile.

He splits picks like a champ.

Lafayette has been able to split that double-up on the high pick a couple/three times and looks like his bball IQ has improved.

THIS is why I'm a proponent for having guys on the team as 13-15 men on a roster.  to get good coaching and be in a winning environment is priceless.  might not show up for a year or two down the road, but it's invaluable.

Erden looks average and Harangody has nailed his shots, but I fear he won't be able to get that thing off against NBA competition (fires it from his hip).

Lafayette was dribbling way too much on that last possession, missed Luke, and then forced the issue. Good job to make up for it on the other end with the steal.

  • Rondo = Good
"@coachthorpe Lafayette is far above the level of any player that has played today. He's a man amongst boys."

That's very good to hear.  Maybe he's our backup PG of the future.

This is the 3rd game I have watched today and the Celtics are by far the most fundamentally sound team. Except for the late run by the Thunder, they have dominated this game. Harangody, Carroll and Lafayette have been great and Green hasn't been bad either. Erden has not stood out but I didn't expect much from him.

The most impressive thing is that Lafayette is winning in the PG matchup against Maynor (though Maynor is still playing well).

I jinxed it. Maynor really asserted himself after I made this comment and got to the rim for his floater at will.

If I'm not mistaken, Jaycee Carroll led the NCAA in assists a couple of years ago and had a cup of coffee with the Knicks
