It is all about the owner's deep pockets when it comes to trades. For instance how much is Orlando owner will to spend on luxury tax. That determines if Gortat is available for simply cap relief. How about a S&T for Reddick S&T and Gortat for Wallace BO and Robinson S&T for instance? Will either owner accept the trade with the financial implications.
The most interesting discussion would be if anyone knows exactly who is financial trouble and is willing to move good players out for cap relief. That tells you how much Wallace's contract is really worth. I keep looking for team's that need both a point guard and cap relief.
However I also wonder how much luxury tax the Celtics can afford as if I remember correctly, the owners have a massive debt left over from their purchase of the Celtics. Does anyone have any numbers about that?

Yup
I've become mildly obsessed with Gortat as a true bench center. Maybe it's just that I'm a big 80's guy, and there seemed to be more guys like that back then (not guys trying to play center off the bench).
Whatever the reason, I want some Gortat\.

I am a fan of Gortat too. That is why I focused on Orlando's finances. It seems their extreme luxury tax is too big for their market and makes me wonder if they are just waiting to move out dollars. It may be a game of chicken as they may have to move out money but are waiting for the right time (after the big names sign somewhere). For instance if Wade and Boozer sign in Mia, Miami might make an offer for a center giving cap relief

I have a difficult time seeing Orlando doing any deal that sends assets from their team to the Celtics. The last two post seasons have left some bad blood between these franchises and I just don't see any way that Orlando deals Gortat or Redick to the Celtics.

There is no way the Magic would give us the rights to talk to Matt Guokas as our assistant coach, let alone a rotation player.
