Totally random question. If you had a bunch of pennies to unload, how many would you use?

I try and use as many of the pennies I accumulate as possible in toll booths.

Funny you should mention this!  A couple years ago I was in line behind an old lady at the drug store down the street.  Her bill came to (yes I still remember exactly) $6.18.  She pulled  two cloth bags out of her purse, and proceeded to count out six hundred and eighteen pennies. It took her a while. The man behind me was evidently in a hurry and was very indignant, caused quite a scene!

I never have more than one or two pennies...they go into a jar and get turned in at the bank.  The only thing I hoard is quarters...I don't have my own washer and dryer and never seem to have enough quarters for the laundry. (Machines are available in my condo bldg.)

great topic - I rarely use pennies except when I'm in a drive thru, because I happen to have them on hand, so I'd so no more than 4

I have my psychology students do little experiments and one is actually on this - how patient a clerk will be when paying in change or pennies...results are often mixed

None.

I can't remember the last time I paid for anything using ANY pennies.  Hell, I can't remember the last time I gave anyone CHANGE for anything.  98 times out of 100, I'm using the debit card.  9 times out of 10, I have less than $10 in hard cash in my pocket.  If I am spending cash, I never carry any change on me.

Change has just slowly accumulated in our house over the years.

1-10, but probably more like 5 or less. Not for politeness reasons, just because there's really no reason to carry much change, unless by design (in which case I'd use quarters).  Pennies are to be collected and traded in once I have an overflow in my change pot.

I pretty much never have more than a dollar's worth of change in my pocket at any given time.

I do love pennies though.  I have a mason jar just about filled with wheat back pennies (the kind they stopped making in 1958).  I've been collecting them since I was little.
Yup
