Does anybody know whether it is possible for Celtics to get anthony morrow? I think he  potentially  is a future All star and I gather that his salary is quite low. However, the problem is he is a restricted FA.

It's possible to sign Morrow. The best way would be a sign & trade with GS, they re-sign him and trade him to us as part of a deal involving Sheed's contract. The second best way would be to pay GS to not match a partial MLE offer from us to Morrow. Either way, Morrow would have to want to come to Boston for whatever it is Danny is willing to offer him.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Future all-star is some lofty expectations. He appears to be a good shooter, he's still young and hasn't been on a good team yet. It would be a signing similar to Marquis Daniels in my opinion--but these gambles pay off sometimes. Marquis was courted by other teams when he was a FA, too, but just didn't work for us. On the cheap or for short years it would be worth a try...

My dream would be something like

Boston send Rasheed Wallace, Tony Gafney, Oliver Lafayette to the Warriors

Warriors send Brandan Wright and a signed and traded Anthony Morrow for 5 years $25 million.

I love both these players and think they are both poised for huge breakouts in the next year or two if they can get away from Don Nelson and in with some good coaching. This solidifies 2 needs. An outside shooting/scoring threat off the bench that can spell Ray and extend his years in the league and effectiveness in the playoffs and a long power forward that has good defensive, rebounding and shot blocking instincts but is athletic enough to player a power 3 position if necessary.

Both are young, oozing potential, have shown flashes of a great pro game already and could be building blocks to a time beyond the Big Three yet still be able to be important parts of a championship run next year.

I like Morrow, but future All-Star is pushing it.  That said, I would be happy if we signed him, he's a great shooter.  If I were Danny I would avoid Wright like the plague.  The guy just doesn't give a crap.  That's the one trait that guarantees that a player will not be good.  You can overcome physical or skill limitations and you can mature and become a better teammate, but you can't start caring

Future All-Star? He should be happy if he has as good a career as Jason Kapono.
