I've heard 0 mentioning of Josh Howard this offseason

I haven't heard a single mentioning of Josh Howard amidst all of this free agent frenzy.  I googled his name and under "news" the only thing I could find is the Wizards declining their team option on him.  This is really perplexing to me.  I've even heard T-Mac at least mentioned!

This is a deserving (opposed to iverson, tmac, etc.) 2007 all star who just a season ago was averaging 18 ppg on 45% shooting.  30 years of age isn't that old.  I realize he has some attitude problems and slipped a bit in production last year, but this guy is a GREAT bench player and insurance for PP/Ray injuries.

Anybody willing to throw 3 years 12 million or more of the MLE at this guy if Miller and Outlaw sign elsewhere?  Team option last season?  If that's too little, give him a player option for the 3rd season (or even 2nd) so he can prove himself here then opt out to make more money a la Posey.  I don't hear any other teams mentioning him.  

EDIT:  Also a low turnover guy and I just realized is going under surgery which will probably drive his price wayyy down.  Possible steal here I think.

I'd be more worried about him being an all around knucklehead more than a pothead. There is a reason alot of players live in Cali in the off season, to light up and put "it" in the air. Puff Puff, Pass.

The ACL is the only thing that really concerns me...you can't tell me that Josh is the only guy in the NBA who gets high. However, I guess he IS the only guy in the NBA who has openly admitted to using, so maybe his brain is another concern. Hmm.

If your talking about Marquise your probably treading in a zone that will get a lot of people offended. I follow the celtics closely and don't believe there was ever even a rumor about him being on anything...

If Danny wasn't willing to risk signing Leon Powe for minimum wage, I can't imagine he's even contacted Howard....Who even post-surgery would command much more.

Lol, too funny!!! Honestly, the one thing that turns me off is his injury history. To be honest, the pot smoking doesn't bother me as long as he keeps it away from his job.

I follow them closely also.  Didn't say Marquis was stoned.  Had the kind of Mark Blount floaty look to him.
