Avery Bradley video footage

Thanks again guys, some good footage there on the last one. He look like:

1. He's got a pretty good stroke.
2. Can at least put the ball on the floor a little
3. Major speed, quickness and athleticism
4. If he can play some nails defense....?

Right now though, I would still 100% absolutely still look to re-sign TAllen. Tony's only a little taller but he's got free safety type strength to deal with some of the bigger off guards. I don't think this kid has that.

I think he's more likely to replace Nate than replace TA. The difference being that Nate and Rondo didn't work because Nate was too small. Rondo and Bradley will work.

That's assuming we can sign TA.

Agreed re TAllen and I hope we do re-sign him. I have a feeling if we're in the ball park, Tony will take a little bit of a hometwon discount to stay with this group.

They say he's incredibly tight with Pierce and the team loves him, as he does them, etc...

If someone comes at him with $3.5 to $4 mil, I think he'd stay with us for $3 to $3.5.

I think it would be a mistake to let him go too. He is very versatile defensively, can guard three positions in certain situations.

I think that the Westbrook comparasion is a good one but I think Bradley is more of a SG while Westbrook is clearly a PG. I cannot make a definite opinion on who is the better defender but on offense it looks like Bradley is the better shooter while Westbrook is the better finisher and distributor.

Honestly man, no offense but you're pretty incorrect with that statement. Westbrook rarely played point at UCLA. He was the shooting guard.

The Thunder saw potential in him as a possible pg but he was not clearly a sure thing and people around the team will admit to that. In fact the Thunder were strongly contemplating moving Russ to the 2 and drafting Rubio.

Ultimately that didn't happen, but it had less to do with Rubio and whether he would come over to the states, and more to do with Russ telling the organization he would not be happy playing the 2 and he wanted to play the one.

Presti, Brooks, and Co. believed in Westbrook and also felt Harden could be a perfect fit. Their belief obviously has paid dividends because they have a stud and border line all star in RW; however, coming out as the 4th pick in the draft in 2008 Russ was far from "clearly a pg".

Remember he did not play pg in college. He was the shooting guard. Darren Collison was the starting pg for Ucla during Russel's tenure there.

He is like TA only he is actually in control and can shoot. Agree that it would be amazing to put him and TA on the floor together; but would live without TA unless we get a major discount.

One of the things I think is largely over looked with TA is that he is one of those guys who's incredibly strong for his weight. I don't know if you knwo what I mean, but if you've ever played against a guy who's 20 pounds lighter than you but who shoves you all over the place...

You watch TA, even when he collides with big men going to the hole, the big guys are usually the ones going the opposite dierection after they run into TA.

He's a like a free safety, physically.

What makes that so valuable, in my book, and actually for TA as well, is that that charactersitic let's him hang and bang defensively with guys much bigger and taller than because they can't move him around too easily.

With guys like Avery or similar, while roughly the same height, they don't have the physical strength like TA.

I think TA will re-sign and I've very interested in seeing he and Bradley on the court together at some point when Bradley is up to speed.

Bottom line with Bradley is he has tons of talent but is still young and raw.

This sounds about right to me.  TA is good for this system and in his role as defensive stopper and occasional slasher.  However, If I'm TA I see no reason to give the hometown discount.  He does not and will never make the money of star players and with a limited career (years-wise) why not try to make as much money as you can?

Naw not Stephen Curry. Think Russell Westbrook. I'm serious, the dude is a straight up athletic combo guard. His game is just like Westbrooks. At worst he is a more explosive version of George Hill for the Spurs, but he has Westbrook type potential and ability. It might not happen all in year 1 for him but I think we picked up the sleeper of the draft.

I agree, and lets not forget that just 12 months ago, ESPN had Bradley rated as the number one player in his high school class, ahead of John Wall, Favors, and Cousins. I wonder if there's a list of all the players ESPN has had ranked #1 in their classes, might be interesting to look it. Again, this only talks about his potential, but he could be a real sleeper.

Totally agree. I was looking over pre-draft measurements and I found that TA did 17 reps on the bench press (185 lbs I think) while Avery Bradley only did 2.

This kid is Steve Francis. I expect him to be a great 6th man going forward and may blossom into a starter in a 3-4 years. What i've read is he's a very hard worker and a dedicated kid.

Remember Rick Barnes was his college coach and we'll Rick Barnes sucks as a basketball coach, he's a recruiter. He had Durant and Augustine and couldnt get out of the 1st round of the NCAA's.

Dunking is not a skill that translates to the NBA. Maybe to And 1 "basketball" but not the NBA. If you don't believe me go ask Harold Minor and Gerald Green.

Let's not be downer here. Before the NBA, Lebron, Kobe, Rose, and Wade had basically all dunks in their footages too, and I think they're pretty good players no? 

When Gerald came into the league, everyone knew he wasn't ready right away and is a long term project. Coming out of high school, his game was relatively raw. Bradley on the other hand, was ranked #1 in ESPNU 100 class of 2009, I don't think Gerald was up there. Even though he was a one and done guy, one year in a good program like Texas can really develop a player. And let's not even mention the differences in defensive abilities between Gerald and Bradley

Also, let's not forget that had it not been an ankle injury, Bradley was supposed to go mid lottery. This was a true steal by Danny.
