IMO Danny will take advantage of one of the teams that loses out on the big free-agents and land us a solid player.

Teams will get desperate to do something and we will benefit.

Just my opinion.

Kind of a general sentiment but I like the optimism.

I agree with this general premise. Al Jefferson seems to be there for the taking. It makes little sense because he plays the same position as the Big Ticket, but Ainge sees a few steps ahead and more good players can't hurt.

Just think about it, the teams will get desperate when they lose out on these big free-agents that are going back to the team they played for last year and start trying to trade for some of the veterans that are being dangled on the block like Chris Paul, Al Jefferson, and we will find a way to get in one of those deals and nab somebody.

Your logic makes no sense to me. We don't have much to trade, and any so called desperate team that does, but doesn't get any FA to come there is not going to say F it and give away their players.

I don't see how Danny can take advantage.

It's a hunch.  Trust in Danny he won't let us down.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

We have the Sheed money, which is actually a pretty awesome thing to have since it won't cost the other team anything. All other teams have to offer is a player with one year or more left on their contract. It is really a unique opportunity.

my sentiments exactly.

now, i certainly hope that danny shakes down every team in the league, raids their rosters, takes their lunch money, and beats up their kids....

but i dont see exactly HOW a team being desperate will help him accomplish all of the above. details would be welcome.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
I have only read the title of this story but I dont understand why Danny would want to take advantage of the Celtics.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Yep - we are just about due for maybe another "Red Auerbach" moment. If anyone can do it, it's Danny Ainge. I like the optimism here as well.
