i am not too surprised i suppose. now maybe we see whether pierce wants the money or the championship more.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

It's the CBA more than anything.  He knows if he doesn't cash in this year, he may never get a big contract again.

Not surprising to me. Makes these next few days infinitely more interesting.

I wonder if he already has an extension lined up with the Cs for more years, lower cap #.  With all the contracts coming off the books and Sheeds contract to trade I'm excited to see what Danny can do!

The right choice for his future. Ainge do the right thing. Pierce meant too much for this franchise. You can't let go of the truth.

Well, while I don't really want him to get a long extension, if we want one more shot at #18, it might have to happen.

If Pierce goes, rebuilding mode starts immediately.

PP thanks for everything you have done in a C's uniform, you are a true champion, but if its true Danny needs to let PP walk. Ray will follow and the C's will have cap room to sign a max player.  If there is an extension in place it better not go past the 2012 season.

Ainge has no choice. Worry about the rebuilding later. First take care of your guys, and give banner # 18 another shot. The guys will be hungrier next season. You gotta take Kobe down.

How you going to fill out rest of the roster? You'll have to renounce everyone. It'll basically be Rondo & KG plus whoever gets the max. Not enough cap to fill out the roster. Ainge is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Initially i'm angry with paul, and i'm sure i can give a better analysis later. But as of now it looks like he is jumping ship. Abandoning KG the one guy who brought him a championship. And could be an indication that doc rivers is leaving.

The sky just might be falling.

How is he jumping ship? Pierce wants to secure his future. With so many teams with cap-room & upcoming lockout. Pierce will get paid by someone else if Ainge decides to be disloyal.

I think that you want to sit back and see what Pierce wants and what Doc does before you can truly evaluate what this means.

Sign lebron , wade or bosh and fill the rest with vet min.

If you have the chance to land a top free agent this summer you have to do it.

You will have KG, Rondo, BBD , Bradley and Harangody

You sign lebron or wade and then just sign a vet min sharp shooter(eddie house) . A few vet min big men. Big Z, Shaq, Ben Wallace and hope for the best. You will have a young core of Rondo, perk, BBd and whoever they sign(lebron, wade, bosh, gay) to build on

I was only 8 when Larry Bird retired, so Paul Pierce is the greatest Celtic that I can remember watching everyday.  The ONLY other spot I can see him go is the Clippers.

I just feel like PP is better than that and will return.  Like Jon said its all about the CBA.  I would love to see his deal go one or two years max beyond what KG has left.

Of Course Paul Pierce will be back - In Green.

He'd Better ;D.

I can think of no one else to lead our Celtics into 2010-11. I want one more shot at the Flakers, and I want The Truth to be here for it.

Danny - Please get it Done!

And C'mon Doc Please give us one more year!
