I thought Mike was going to retire after this season but according to Marc Spears it's not the case :

In case you were wondering Celtics fans, veteran free agent swingman Michael Finley is not retiring and still has a strong desire to play.

So, would you resign him for the veteran minimum? And if you did, would you give him some good minutes during the season to rest the starters?

I would be glad to welcome Finley back, he didn't contribute at all in the playoffs but he is a great guy, and for the veteran minimum, on a team that will struggle to fill its roster, he seems useful, even if he doesn't play much. Always helpful to have a shooter on your team (even if he can't guard a chair :P).

I'd like to see him back as the 13th or 14th man and for the Vet Min.

I'd do that, but that's about it.

I would honestly rather have reggie miller if we just want someone that can shoot the ball. If only we could switch the desires for both of them

Please, Mike...  Do you and all of us a favor and retire.  You're done...

Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

No, I don't think anyone was wondering.  Pass.

Good glue guy who can still stretch the floor and hit open shots. Also a good role model for young players.

Stop trash talking Michael Finley  >:(

He is a wait till midseason and if the team needs a shooter, give him a shot.

Too bad he didn't have a "strong desire to play" when Doc stuck him in the game vs the Lakers.

I don't doubt his desire.

It's his ability at this point that's the problem.  He is now a one dimensional shooter.

He's barely even this anymore...

As in 'ready for the glue factory'?

Just kidding though  :) I agree with you actually. He was deadly from 3-point land for the short while he was with us. I'm not sure why he didn't play a bit more in the playoffs (had only spot duty in a couple of games, whereas I would have liked to see him in most situations where we needed to spread the floor at the end of a quarter)

I have a strong desire to NOT see Finley play.

Thanks for you contributions during the regular season, Mike but you're older than Abe Lincoln wearing a dinosaur costume.

So, who would you rather see being used as an emergency back-up three signed for the minimum who is usually deactivated and occasional end of quarter all-shooter line-up when you pretty much inbound and heave a three - Finley or Scal?

Would you prefer Finley or a wing who is as good at defense as Finley is at shooting but is as good at offense as Finley is at defense?
