I was just reading Rich Levine's Free Agent Preview and he doesn't believe we can get Mike Miller if we resign Ray.

What do you guys think?

Think we can get Miller while resigning Ray?

Why not?  We have Ray's Bird rights, and we can sign Mike Miller with the MLE.  We really need both those guys.

As do I.  I was kinda surprised to see that Levine doesn't believe we can.

Completely agree on that.  UGH why did Perk have to get injured!  We'd have Banner 18 right now and would not have to worry as much about our center situation.

The issue is that if we resign Ray, a wing will be much lower on the list of needs.  We would still desperately need help up front, and Miller would take up the entire MLE, leaving us with very few options to find a new Center (or two).

Perkins was playing with a bad knee for at least half the season, it was probably ready to go at any time by the time they got to the playoffs. I think it really limited his play and once he fully recovers, I expect him to be better than the Perk we saw since the all-star break last season.

We could do a sign and trade but why trade for someone we could just sign ourselves.

CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

Still doesn't change my opinion  that we would have won it again with Perk healthy.

McGee is a shot blocking monster. a guy who loves the D. two birds one stone, still have the MLE.

These media types are such idiots.  Honestly, it doesn't even make sense what he says.  If Wyc's wiling to spend it, we could pay Ray more than he made last year (not going to happen) and sign Miller.

I can't remember who said it the other day, but on ESPN they were talking about Shaq on the FA market.  The analyst goes, "I think he's going to make 8 million per year on the open market and I think Dallas is going to be where he goes."  Only problem, Dallas has no cap space.

And it's amazing how much crap starts from all of this.

I turned off ESPN long time ago. They do more harm to the brain cells than Narcotic. They remind me of lobbyist groups at capital hill. I think ShaQ would take the minimum for a chance to get at Ko****y. Why not the Celtics?
