I know that he was been mentioned months ago prior to us trading for Nate.  How about Keyon IF Nate signs elsewhere?  Would he sign for the league minimum to play for a championship?  Avery is NOT ready to play at our level.  He played ONE year of college ball and he will miss the summer league.

Maybe last year, but now I'd prefer to develop Bradley a few minutes at a time.

He'll never be ready for the NBA if he doesn't play.

  • Rondo = Good
I like Keyon, but I think we should play Bradley significant minutes whether he's ready or not.  It's time to develop the young talent.  Between Rondo and Bradley, we don't need any more PG's.

I think re-signing Tony should be the priority to shore up the guard rotation along with Rondo, Bradley, and whoever we have starting at SG (Ray or whoever else).

At this point, with our limited salary flexibility ... Keyon doesn't make sense.    With Rasheed and the MLE, we have to fill our voids.

Dooling can be very very important if we want to get Beasley.I read somewhere that the Nets were offered a Beasley-Dooling trade but refused.Stupid of them if they were just going to waive him

If the Celtics turn out to be contenders next year, you absolutely need a more experience point guard.  No way Doc or any other coach goes into the playoffs with a rookie backup.  We need Dooling or Nate to come back.

There's a pretty good number of veteran PGs who should be available fairly cheaply this offseason.  Not necessarily a lot of guys if you were looking for s starter, but for the role that's available here (10-12MPG backup), some decent options.

A good list:

Steve Blake would be great, but probably will sign for more that we have available.  Earl Watson would be a good fit, although sounds like Indiana wants to keep him around.  Kyle Lowrey, Chris Duhon, Carlos Arroyo...  not great players, but neither is Dooling.  No need to make his pursuit a priority.

I agree Blake would be great, but I think even in this oversaturated market he will command more than the veteran minimum. I think our plan should be to resign Robinson, and find a PG that has some size, so that we can put the two of them on the floor together.

With what appears to be a lack of interest in New Jersey among the big FA's, IMO ... this shows that the Beasley rumor was not real and if Dooling was involved, he was only a PART of the trade package going back to Miami.

I'd be happy with Dooling at the minimum, but I believe he will get more and we have to save our salary slots for other positions.  I'd rather sign Robinson on a 1 yr contract and see what happens.

The only reason the Heat offered to trade Beasley for Dooling is because his contract was partially guaranteed (meaning he could be waived this summer at no future cost to his team).

Now that Dooling has been waived, he has no value to the Heat whatsoever.
