Doesn't it make a ton of sense for both teams to sign & trade Ray Allen for Luol Deng (and move Paul to shooting guard)?  I love Ray Allen, but this to make too much sense for both teams.

NOTE: No rumors on this .... just seeing that Chicago needs an experienced 2 guard and Boston needs athleticism and youth.

PP doesn't have the speed in the current stage of his career to guard shooting guards on regular basis.

In any sign and trade, we'd be lucky to get an expiring and a second rounder to Ray.

Luol Deng is probably way out of the question, and I think they're trying to move him for an expiring, anyway. And Paul can't play SG anymore, as stated above.

I agree that a Ray for Deng deal would be intriguing.  Although I am not sure Deng fits that well next to Paul.  I think a move like that would be part of a bigger "blow up" with Pierce leaving as well, either as a free agent, or a trade.

I wouldn't make that trade if I were Chicago. Deng is more valuable and would give the Bulls terrific lineup flexibility with his versatility. His ability to play the two, three and four gives the Bulls a lot of options lineup wise.

I think Luol Deng can have a larger impact than Ray Allen can for the Chicago team (if they got Bron + Bosh).

I don't think Deng is a SG.  While I think Deng is a better player than Allen, I do think Allen would be absolutely perfect fit on that team.  And a trade, with Allen's deal starting at say, $9 million per year, would also save the Bulls a couple million dollars to be able to afford the full max for Bosh and Lebron.

And let's not undersell the fact that Ray has been playing (and playing well) in Thibs' defensive system for a couple years now.  Not to mention the value of having him as a veteran leader on that team.

I wouldn't do this trade for Boston for the same reason Chicago might consider it. Deng isn't a threat from behind the arc, making spacing an issue for any Bulls teams that doesn't have a great shooter at the 2 (or Dirk at the 4?). And it would be an even worse issue for us given Rondo's jumpshot.

Meanwhile, he's in love with the 20 footer, one of the least efficient shots in basketball. Get used to opposing defenses packing the paint while Pierce, Deng, Rondo and KG take turns shooting contested turnarounds and off the dribble jumpshots.

Maybe it could work if we could also add a back to the basket scorer (that isn't Shaq).

Funny... I was just about to start a Luol Deng thread, but for different reasons.

I've been reading two things... #1 - Bron and Bosh are going to Chicago.   #2 - Joe Johnson is desperate to go to Chicago... so desperate that he would sign early, supposedly.

The Bulls can sign two, but not three...

At first I was thinking maybe we could use Sheed's contract to bring back Deng and give the Bulls enough cap room to sign all three... but more likely the Bulls just work a sign-and-trade with Atlanta where Deng ends up a Hawk.

PG - Rose
SG - Joe Johnson
SF - Bron
PF - Bosh
C - Noah
... this team is in play.  Scary.

All these scary Bulls line up predictions look funny with Noah in here... Haha, any chance the Bulls have the room to target either O'Neal or another center through trade? I don't see Noah fitting in a Bosh-LeBron team.

salaries dont match up for a S+T of deng for joe johnson.

Also if the S+T is for johnson, then he could get a bigger contract that lebron or bosh, which would not go over well... if there's a sign and trade for anyone its for lebron so he gets paid more.

What I think would work is a three way trade that send Ray to Miami, Wallace and Jones to Chicago, Deng and Beasley to Boston.

Miami gets Ray to go next to Wade (without using existing cap space) and drop Beasley.

Chicago get Wallace (retires) and Jones (team option) to create another cap slot to sign a Joe Johnson.

Boston gets Deng and Beasley.  (and pray that Beasley matures)

Seriously? Noah was second in the NBA in rebounds before his plantar issues, and he still came back from those foot problems to put up some good playoff performances. He's also a leader with a ton of energy and plays solid defense. And despite his awkward shot makes his free throws. For the future, I'd take Noah over any guy on the Celtics not named Rondo. I don't think he's a weak link to that lineup. I think he's a perfect fit.

Also, there is NO WAY the Bulls could get Joe Johnson too unless they cleared out Rose or Noah, or Johnson took $9-10 mil a year.
Go Celtics.

I talked about it a bunch in the "predictions" thread.  You include Taj Gibson and James Johnson with Deng and the Bulls can take back 17.6 mil in salary.   They could sign two guys to max deals (16 mil each) and then sign-and-trade for the other. Doesn't necessarily have to be Joe Johnson who is acquired in the sign-and-trade.

Deng would be terrific off Chicago's bench.  Could take some of the pressure off LeBron defending the better wing players.  Could see them running a little large-ball, with LeBron, Deng, Rose, Bosh, and Noah.

Ray Allen would be a terrific addition to that squad, but so would my current binkie, Mike Miller.  Not familiar enough with what's left on Chicago's roster to effect a sign-and-trade with Washington.  They wouldn't happen to have $4M or $5M in leftover cap space for him, would they?

Could they do something like - sign and trade Brad Miller on a one year, $5M contract - send him, $3M, and a first round pick for Mike Miller?  Washington gets the big guy basically for $2M and picks up a draft pick?  Washington really needs a center, Blatche played a lot of minutes there but he really ought to be over at the PF spot.  Probably not a great fit, but someone LIKE Mike Miller would absolutely complete this (theoretical) Bulls squad.

I could see Big Z following LeBron to Chicago to add some length to their bench, as well.

Chicago could come out of this as an absolutely frighteningly good team.  Scared as hell to match up against them, but cripes, as a fan - what a team to watch!

Deng isn't very athletic in fact less so than Paul at his age.  So no with extreme prejudice.  Why would we want Deng to help Chicago.  If he's so good let him play with the all the other great players Chicago's going to have...

I love how all the trades are just.. add this guy (no one wants ) or this guy ( no one wants ) and then the trade works...
