Let's say Doc comes back. PP wants it so much... I guess Ray too. Let's say PP opts out to extend his relation with the Celts. Both PP and Allen want another shot at #18. Could they help the team? How?

By cutting their income.

PP changes the 1 year / 21 mill deal for another one about 3 yrs / 40 mill.

Ray gets one about 2 yrs. / 15 mill.

With Sheed gone that could leave an amount of 8/9 millions under the cap for a good center we need. The MLE would have gone but the cap space would be more attractive for a Haywood type 5.

If PP wants to retire as a celtic, he has to help this team financially. The prize for retiring in green uniform is for him, not for the fans or the team. He has to show again he's a true celtic and a winner.

If Ainge is capable of providing an scenario like this one, maybe the window will still be opened. If not... farewell to the Finals.
