I've had visions spending the full MLE on the likes of Mike Miller or Tracy McGrady; however, it's beginning to look like the MLE is going to have to go towards big men.  Without getting into that debate, assuming that there won't be big money to spend on wings, what's your thoughts about bringing back Marquis Daniels?

Prior to getting hurt he was steady off of the bench.  And while he didn't look great when he came back, it was primarily in garbage minutes that you knew he didn't care about.

After this season, I don't expect him to be highly sought after by other teams.  So a small raise on what he made this season might actually do it.

The pluses?  He knows the system, can handle the ball (which could be useful if Bradley's the backup "1"), can score some, and play D.

The minuses?  A disappointing season last season and not a great outside shooter.

Still, for a 120% raise on the LLE (or whatever it would be), we might not find better.

No thanks.  He has no role on this team as long as TA is here since he can't shoot to save his life.  He's also not strong enough to really defend 3's despite his size.

He's also clearly got injury issues, making him exactly the kind of player we don't need.

There's a long list of guys I'd rather have than Marquis Daniels as a backup wing.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

I'm pretty sure he's made it known that he's not planning on coming back.

I hope not... Marquis only had good games in his past when he played "aganist"the Celtics.I watched quite a few of the Pacers games when he was a member and there was a noticable difference in his quality&level of play.Could it be he's one of those players that only gets up for teams he really dislike or a player(s)from that team?

I would say no, but I can't think of a way to fill out the wing positions with enough veterans without bringing him back.

I think I'd guage whether he'd come back for $2.4 million (120% of his current LLE salary) and, if so, it really sets that as a cap on TA's salary.

I think he can play, and is probably better than what we'd get for the minimum, so I'd predict he stays by default.  He's not as good on-ball defending as TA, but has superior length that should be helpful in deny defense and passing lanes, and is much more solid/safe offensively then TA.  I think if he could be healthy, he might compete for minutes with TA and, possibly, beat him out.  And at $5 million for both, it might be worth keeping both.

Marquis was a pretty good player even though he didnt get much of a chance. hes alot better offensively then TA and defensively hes not too bad. no way hes coming back. Sign mike miller he will be a good fit, tall guard defends and will have plenty open looks to bomb that 3 . good off the drible pull up as well and is hungry!

No point in bringing back Marquis if Tony Allen is going to be re-signed.

Pass on 'Quis.

I’ve even unfollowed him on Twitter. I’d rather have Bill Walker.
