If he will come in a play the limited roll the Celtics need (defense, rebound, 5th option), he is the best option.

But if he wants to be one of the "stars" still, he would be a bad fit.

if it's between him and Miller, I'd take Jermaine.

I'd take Jermaine as a back-up center, temporary fill in for Perk if we couldn't get Shaq, Miller, Chandler, etc.

You'd have to keep listing about fifteen or twenty more available big men before you got me to agree to JO.

Hell, I think I'd rather get Bill Russell out of retirement - he and JO have just about the same level of athleticism these days.

Have those of you who say he has nothing to offer even looked at his stats from last years regular season? Not bad at all for playing 28 mins a game. He is by far the most talented reserve at that position available and is the youngest of the options.

(reg season stats 13.6 ppg 6.9 rpg, 1.4 blk in 28 min. how is that bad?)

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Jermaine O'neal is still a very talented offensive player, his offence is actually very similar to Kevin Garnett's with a little more variety and a little less efficiency. I would take him on the Celtcs in a heartbeat, he would be sheed's replacement although they play in a different way. Jermaine is still an elite shot blocker, he can compliment both KG and Perk on offense.
