Scott Schroeder again doing yeoman's work over at Ridiculous Upside.

Michigan's DeShawn Sims' name has already shown up on the front page. But he'll be joined by:

Rider's Ryan Thompson, the brother of Jason Thompson.
LaSalle's Rodney Green.
And Radford center Artsiom Parakhouski.

That Artisom guy has put up great numbers against the big name schools. I don't know if thats because they didn't care enough about Bradford to actually scout or what, but other than the fact he's from a small conference and started playing late, he's really impressive from all I've heard.

Glad he's on our summer league team, he'll probably make the training camp roster and we'll go from there. At the very least he can't be any worse than Rob Swift last year.

that's good news, Parakhouski could be a good role player. Good work, Celtics. And TP, WW.

The kid looks like a strong 6'11 player....

He had a great game against  Kansas/Cole Aldrich

Really like what I've seen of Parakhouski (okay, it's only Youtube and pre-draft interviews, but still). He's tall and strong and mobile, and his <5% body fat and improvement in skills (started playing just a few years ago, so still has potential) suggest a strong work ethic.

He likes working in the post, but has a solid mid-range jumper. I really thought he'd be drafted mid second-round.

I've also heard he's closer to 7-1 than 6-11. He's often played over 30 minutes a game in college, too. That would seem to suggest he has a terrific motor, something that can't be said for a lot of people that size.

according to the article the celtics have picked up and will ship to the D league...

1. ryan thompson, sg, rider college....

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Ryan-Thompson-5060/

 6' 6", 17.2 pts, 3.6 rbs, 2.8 ast.

"incredibly high" BB IQ, good basketball player....but doesnt have enough athletic ability to play in the nba as a starter.  (it appears that his jumping ability may barely surpasses mine.  :( )

2. deshawn sims, sf, michigan

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/DeShawn-Sims-5503/

6' 8", 16.8 pts & 7.6 rbs.

good shooter, ok athleticism, "inconsistent" - which seems to mean that he doesnt always feel like playing hard. if he was consistent he was a 2nd pick according to article.

3. Artsiom Parakhouski (had to copy and paste that name), c, radford

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Artsiom-Parakhouski-5690/

6' 11", 21.4 pts, 13.4 rbs, 2.1 blks

biggest strength = "his sheer size", not very athletic, but flat out strong. i guess erden can stay in europe.  ;)

4. rodney green, sg/sf, lasalle

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Rodney-Green-1208/

6' 5", 18.5 pts, 5.1 rbs, 4.3 asts, 1.6 stls.

not really 6' 5" and not very long arms. "great scoring skills and instincts," seems like a typical 2nd rounder...a mix of some skills along with some glaring problem.

good luck to them all! i hope they all turn out to be steals for the celtics.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I really like all of these players. Now if Danny can recruit Marqus Blakely I will really have a Semi Erden (Can't resist, I think it should be a rule that every poster should use his name at least once inappropriately)

Need another big but could be OK for summer league. Too bad won't see Avery till Training Camp at earliest. Would not mind seeing Morris Almond; but perhaps they have seen enough of him in Maine.

PG) O Lafayette
PG) JC Carrol
SG) R Thompson
SG/SF) R Green
SF) T Gaffney
SF) R Whittman
SF) D Sims
PF) L Harangody
C) S Erden ?
C) A Parakhouski

What summer league invitees of past years have turned into regular season roster members?

Alan Ray, off the top of my head.
