The Blazers plan on releasing Ryan Gomes, who came over in a trade with the Timberwolves on draft day. They're looking to avoid paying him the remaining three years of his contract and Gomes isn't even scheduled to travel to Portland. Gomes is too good a player to sit out for long, so expect him to be picked up by another team this summer.

What you guys think? I think he would be such a solid player off the bench, just like he was before he got shipped out of town. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE bringing him back

That's what I'm saying Bro, was such a solid guy in the locker room, and not to mention the work he did in the community and Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline....such a class act..haha why does it say marcus landry under my user name

3rd string PF? I'm not sure where he would see minutes. There are other guys who would be better fits.

With Sheed gone and Perkins' health a question, BBD may be spending a good amount of time at center. That plus limiting KG's minutes, and I think we actually might have some good minutes available at PF.

I'm pretty sure that Ryan's been playing the majority of his minutes at the 3 out in Minnesota.

Ryan Gomes plays hard and has fond, albeit unsuccessful, memories of his time in Boston. He would be a very good signing in my opinion and certainly better than the Marquis Daniels signing.

I like Gomes and I bet he is very much on the Celtics radar screen.  There are a few things that need to fall into place first though (resign PP and Ray, address whether or not Sheed's contract will be used in a trade) before the Cs get a sense of the most glaring needs to address with free agents.
Celtics fan for life.

Yes I agree.  Daniels was suppose to back up the 1,2 or 3 but that didn't really pan out and we drafted another combo guard.   A power 3 and a stretch 4 is something we could use at times.   I wonder if he would sign for the vet min because we might have to use the full MLE on someone else especially if Wallace doesn't come back.

I thought Gomes was a 3 now? If so,he can backup PP and play some pf.

VERY ordinary role player with limitations.

Not at all interested unless he can be had for the minimum. No part of the MLE whatsoever.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

And Theo Ratliff might be a better resigning than Mikki Moore, but that doesn't mean he'd be a good idea.
