I think there are a lot of players in this large Free Agent class, that would fit into what the Celtics like to do, and I came up with a list of Unrestricted free agents i think we can pursue, who could realistically be on the roster starting next season....(this list is assuming we re-sign Ray)
(assuming our roster looks like:Rondo,Ray,PP,KG,Perk,Baby,rooks)
....In no particular order:
Jason Collins - servicable big, for cheap, can defend,7 footer
Tyson Chandler -(if opts out) athletic, shot blocker, solid big
Flip Murray - Scorer off bench 10-12 pts, can play some 1,
Brendan Haywood - very good center, big presence on both ends
Rasual Butler - 6-7 wing, can hit the 3, defend, posey-role
Travis Outlaw - younger 6-7 wing, athletic, can put ball on floor
Craig Smith - undersized pf can board&crafty underneath,
Steven Hunter - athletic 7-foot C, can b a presence on both ends
Jermaine O'neal - Good C when healthy,shot blocker,14pts 6rebs
Dorrell Wright - young athletic wing, mid-range game, defender
Earl Barron - solid big, could be had for cheap, killed us in NY
Al Harrington - could be a super-sub,14-16pts,size&versatility
Tracy McGrady - could also b super-sub,versatility,scorer
Matt Barnes - we saw him in the playoffs, wont explain further
Louis Amundson - 6-9, tough, rebounder, athletic, hard-nosed
Ian Mahinmi - young athletic big from spurs, could become good
Patrick O'Bryant - No, I'm not crazy, this is just a joke!
Shaun Livingston - versatile,can play 1 thru 3,getting better
Mike Miller - 6-8 wing, 3 ball, put it on the floor, very good
Fabricio Oberto - servicable big, decent offensively,
(I wouldn't mind having any of these guys but,
My personal favorites from this list):
Mike Miller
Ian Mahinmi
Al Harrington
Brendan Haywood
Steven Hunter
Tracy McGrady
Rasual Butler
What do you think?
