Future Chicago Bulls versus Future Miami Heat

It looks like both the Heat and Bulls cleared a bunch of space and will continue to do so. So given what we know it isn't unheard of for LeBron to sign with Chicago and have Chris Bosh follow him there. Then the Heat could resign Wade and sign Amare and Joe Johnson if they can move Beasley for space.

So who in a few years is going to be winning titles?

with those two teams i think the bulls have an edge. James and Rose will be lethal together. ANd then they have Bosh to dump in to or pick and pop. A much more dangerous offense

If heat and bulls land the chips that they want with the big FA guys..then that's going to be real scary with a possible future dynasty for one of them.


And call me a spoiled sport or w/e, but I don't want to sit through any team building a dynasty (unless its the C's).

So am hoping neither of those 2 teams end up getting all the players that they are planning to get.

Hard to say, but I'll go with the Bulls.  Rose / LeBron / Bosh is pretty hard to beat.

Have to imagine at least one of the max free agents will be stupid enough to go to NY.  Probably Joe Johnson or Boozer.

And call me a spoiled sport or w/e, but I don't want to sit through any team building a dynasty (unless its the C's).

So am hoping neither of those 2 teams end up getting all the players that they are planning to get.

Honestly, I'd rather see the Bulls or the Heat win a bunch more titles than the Lakers dominate for the next few seasons, and I think it'll take an epic pairing of free agents in order to overcome the Kobe / Pau combo.

Been awhile guys but here are my thoughts on the draft/cap room that teams have:

The funny thing about last night is that all of these teams made moves to clear cap space for max contract free agents.  The only 'max' contract available is from the team these guys currently play for.  You can have all the cap room you want, but to get one of these top free agents to sign (LBJ and Bosh specifically) you need to convince them to take a 30 million dollar pay cut.

You think Lebron is going to agree to make less money than Wade?  Not a chance.  People seem to forget that he took a 3 year deal to maximize his salary at this point in time not to truly test free agency.  Lebron is going to get wined and dined and have a blast for a week or so.  He will then promptly sign for his true max contract.  There's no chance he takes a
giant pay cut when his original intention has always been to maximize his dollars.

First, this might not play out.  For all we know, the FA's disperse themselves and no one really becomes a big dynasty.  Plus, we all know what injuries can do to teams (remember when Orlando got Hill and McGrady?). 

Second, this is all the more reason to make a big push this year.  It may take these teams a year of playing together to win it all.  To go into rebuilding mode now may just destine us to be the Utah Jazz to someone else's Chicago Bulls even if things work out for us.

If your taking into account league wide outlooks then I would be more scared of the much more organic build up of talent occurring in OKC. If they continue to grow as individuals and as a team they will continue to be perhaps the most exciting team in the league (from a pure basketball fan's stand point)and a force to be reckoned with from this year forward.

The Celtics or Lakers will win it next year.... and then when the C's break up, Miami and Chicago will still have trouble getting past Orlando and LA.

No guarantees that either group will win a title.. or titles. I bet Miami would win 1 title, and then Chicago would win 1 maybe 2.

I wouldn't be sure. James has already sacrificed cash by opting out, instead of just extending.

Also the endorsements will more than cover that 30 million over 5 years.

I feel for you though. James created this circus, and it would be a hard blow if he left.

I couldnt imagine rooting for a guy like Lebron and then having to face the possibility of him leaving.

You are right in that the Cavs can offer the most money. That plus the hometown appeal is probably keeping them in the race. However you have to admit, Chicago is going to be able to put a helluva run on him.

Bulls Hands Down. Rose is incredible and 21. James is 25 and enough said about him. Bosh is 26 and the best Power Forward in the NBA, yes over Gasol. Gasol can't guard Bosh. Noah is a rebounding machine, is 24, a solid defender and a perfect compliment to a trio like Rose/Bosh/Wade because he does the dirty work and is firey. Also Deng is a good player. He gives Pierce fits and he could realistically be moved for Joe Johnson in a S+T if Atlanta wants to get something in return for JJ.

Assuming Joe goes to Miami, h is 29 and will be on the downside. Wade is 28 and has probably peaked. Amare is 26 but has been injury plagued, so how much longer can you expect him to be durable as he ages?

The Bulls would have more depth, talent, and potential. They will be better coached also. Give me Thibs and his defensive genius over Spoelstra any day. Even if Thibs isn't an offensice guru we all knoe here at CB that his D is legit and with that lineup just give those athletes the ball and let them run and make plays.
