Bosh or Amare?

It seems to be that Bosh is the more highly spoken of free agent big man available.  I always put him ahead of the others when thinking of who to go after.  But after thinking about it more, Bosh has done what he has as the center piece of an offense with the ball always going through him.  Amare has done what he has without the ball.  With the talk about NYK, Miami, and now Chicago having room to sign 2 max free agents, if you can get Lebron or Wade to sign with you and can choose between Amare or Bosh, who do you take?  Do you prefer the better overall player in Bosh or Amare because you want somebody who works well without the ball?  Is Boozer even in the conversation?  Is Dirk worth mentioning here or is it assumed he will re-sign?

Bosh without hesitation. He can do so many things, and on a winner I think he'll be even better.

With Stoudemire I wonder how good he would remain without the best passing PG in the NBA by his side.

And Boozer's lack of height gets exposed against the elite teams year after year in the playoffs.

Amare without question. I even put Boozer above Bosh. Bosh put up good numbers on a bad team that had no one else to produce for the last 2/3 years. Guy is way overratted. If he is someones second fiddle then he can provide a decent role player but he doesnt have the it factor for me. I would absolutely pass on him.

Bosh.  So Bosh.

He gets underrated by some because he was on the Raptors but please.  He's a legit 25 and 10 big man with excellent size and a very versatile game.  Don't penalize him because he had to play alongside soft-as-paper Bargnani.

Amare is great on offense but he's got injury concerns and he's not much to speak of on defense.  He also gets dominated by size (see: Western Conference Finals vs. Lakers).  Same goes for Boozer.

Bosh is the biggest prize as far as big men go in this draft.  Amare and Boozer are just very good consolation prizes.

Bosh is deff the better player, he is consistent night in and night out. He also has the ability to produce on a big stage, as shown in the last olympics, stoudemire's numbers went down big time in the post season. I know I shouldn't compare their numbers that way, but hey couldn't you say that there isnt a bigger stage than the Olympics?

For the $ they'll each command, neither. But I guess you go with Bosh in the hopes that he'll then lure Lebron to tag along.
 
Ever notice how everything Amare does well (pick/roll, finish the rim) is a direct result of Nash - and things he's bad at (defense, rebounding) are things Nash can't help control?  I think he disapears a la Shawn Marion when paired with an average pg. 

Then you have Bosh; who was suppose to lead this most recent version of the Raptors to a HCA playoff birth.  But now the story is that his supporting cast is deemed to have 'stunk', yet 95% of people picked them to be a Eastern powerhouse before last year...  I know their soft, but with guys got Hedu, Calderon, #1 pick Bargs --- and you can't even beat out the Bobcats for an 8th seed?  I'm sorry, but Bosh HAS to take some heat for that.  And I will never forget Mikki Moore's owning him for an entire series a few years back when NJ eliminated Tor.

I only sign one of these two if I'm certain it will also land me James.  Otherwise, I'd rather spend big money on Boozer or Dirk.

You could say it, but I don't believe it.  As far as basketball goes, no stage is bigger than the NBA Finals.

I guess in those terms, the best big man in basketball is Pau Gasol.

True, but those types of players are injured or resting, I like Bosh's ability to go to work in the post and board more then Stoudemire's.

Yeah.  Bosh was surrounded by players who wouldn't know defense if it hit them in the face, and a coach who clearly had no idea what he was doing, at least as far as setting up a defense goes.

The Raptors were actually very good offensively and went on streaks during the season because of that.  They just were epically bad on defense, which falls on Bosh somewhat, but more so on his ultra soft European team mates and his inept coaching staff.

Put Bosh in a winning situation and I'm sure he'll still put up 20-10 and he'll be very impressive doing so.
