Interesting trade. OKC gets some much needed shooting. Miami clears cap space. looks like they're making room for 2 or even 3 big free agents.

I can see why both teams would do this.  I like it more for OKC because they actually get a competent body to trot out who should help (at reasonable cost too) but if this puts Miami over the top to sign a big free agent, then its great for them too.

I like this for the Thunder alot. And I like it for us as well because it wouldn’t seem that Boston and Oklahoma’s draft needs are the same.

Great. The market is set. If Danny is going to move the Celtics 19th pick he has to give up it and Big Baby to get a high second rounder.

Geesh!!

Of course, I now have to point out that you predicted Cook would be playing in Italy by this point.

As for the trade, Miami has to sign a second top tier F.A. to justify this trade. David Lee or Rudy Gay isn't going to cut it.

Except I kinda want Orton and I guarantee you thats why the Thunder got the 18th.

But I kinda want D. James and I think they might grab James ;D ;D :'(
He could be their specialist defender against Carmelo Anthony, Kobe perhaps, Lebron in the future...as well as backup PF.

Well, not to depress you, but you're right they need a Gasol, Bynum, and Potential Oden stopper.

I believe I said at the end of his then current contract. Has he been extended since then?

I still expect him to be with Benneton Sport in the near future, LOL.

odd move as far as value    youd imagine the 18 is more valuable than the 32  and daequan is a value of his own as a very good outside shooter so how the heck does that come out as an even trade?

Sam Presti continues to be one of the best GMs in the NBA...right alongside John Hammond and Daryl Morey.

2nd round picks (like the #32) are not guaranteed contracts so they don't create cap holds.  The Heat are looking for extra cap space so they didn't want a 1st round pick.

Miami sheds $2.17 million in cap space for next season. That gets them significantly closer to two max contracts to put alongside Wade.

Only in the NBA does a team need to give up a player to MOVE DOWN in the draft. LOL.
