I'd trade for Gasol in a heart beat.  The only thing not to like about that guy is the uniform he's wearing.

I remember the Celtics trading centers in the 90's with the Lakers. Why would be it different now? If the trade rules, go for it.

Travis Knight.  The 40 Million Dollar Man.  Thanks, Pitino.

I'd rather have an STD. And with Kobe around I'd probably get one. And not by my choice.

Forget their salaries or contract statuses for a moment (as I don't have those details)...  But would you trade Tony Allen for Shannon Brown?

No, why the interest in Shannon Brown?

I believe we traded Travis Knight back for Tony Battie and in the sixties got an ex-Laker off the waiver wire....lost track of him...his name is Don Nelson

Just following topic...  Never said I wanted him, just threw out the question...

I could have sworn it was 21 million, but still overpaid IMO.

Pitino was trying to be "smart".

I agree, I never bought into the whole "Gasol is soft" thing. Two years ago, KG just dominated him.

Well, I wish he'd shave before coming to work, but yeah, he's the closest thing to McHale that I've seen since McHale.

Poor Bynum.  I like his grit, his size and parts of his game.  I hate his history of injuries.  And Clifford Ray could really help this kid.

Funny I can say that though, I see Brian Shaw on the Laker's bench and can't help but think of him as a traitor.   ;D

I did not know that. Interesting. Thanks.

It seemed like also that at Larry Bird's retirement ceremony that Bob Costas said the pick used to get Larry Bird originally belonged to the Lakers. Was it the trade that involved Don Chaney, Kermit Washington for  Charlie Scott? Anybody know anything on that?

At the time, he was not as aggressive as he is now. Being on the Lakers made him a tougher and more aggressive player, it wasn't til after the 2008 finals that he bucked up and got stronger.

Can't find anything to corroborate that in the ProSports transaction database.
