Well, ok, I just can't understand how this issue isn't as big of an issue as our offensisive needs.

So I guess we can say that Perkins, KG, Baby, Rasheed and Shelden are just as rough and tumble a crew as we had with:

Perkins, PJ, Posey & Powe in 2008.

Gimme a break...in large part we won it 2008 because we were nasty tough in the lane, the only thing left of that this year is Perk, that is it.

And we didn't man handle Howard this year. He just about single handedly knocked out our entire front line. We were a pounching bag for him and we took a major beating.

Guys like PJ, Posey and Powe would have layed some serioulsy hard fouls not only on Howard but alot of other magic players in that series and they would have thought long and hard about coming down the lane. Now, if Perk is out we are marhsmellows.

It really boggles my mind if any one thinks this 2010 team is anywhere near as nasty tough as the 08 team, it isn't even close.

They are tough, tenacious and have hearts the size of Texas, but no one fears going down the lane agaisnt them, at all.

We need a mjor dose of toughness put back ontp this team, along with some offesnive fire power.

Aside from overpaying for Posey and keeping Leon Powe, where else do the Celtics turn to for help?
The beatings will continue until morale improves

That's pretty funny tag with the three guys with bloody noses, which is about what we looked like after getting our asses handed to us in the apint all season...

We were one of the worst rebounding teams in the league all season and it also happened to cost us the title. Which I guess would make your post hilarious.

We may have certainly struggled offensively, but we lost this title on the boards and because we couldn't conistently control the paint. WE won some of the games on the rebounding matches but only by  a very small margin, in the games the lakers won, they dominated us on the boards.

We were no where tough enough or dominant enough in the lane.

To answer the other question about where, other than Posey or Powe we should turn, I don't have an immediate answer.

Guys who come to mind on the free agent side?
Brad Miller, Brendan Haywood, Kurt Thomas, Jamaal Magloire

Miller isn't that tough at heart but he'll lay some hits on people and he's talented and would probably fit in decently on this team with his passing ability.

Haywood is a pretty physical guy and he gives us good length.

Kurt Thomas is obviously very old but if I thought he still had 15-20 minutes a night of good physical play under the boards I'd sign him in a heart beat and give him a very specific job description. Same for Magloire.

If I could get similar youger players through small trades I would do that.

cmon posey again? guy has declined so much. powe has bad knees while also being undrsized.

haywood yes, but miller, thomas and magloire, no. im not sure the idea of signing guys just because they foul hard would get us over the hump.

Maybe I'm just not syaing it right or something.

1. I am not syaing I want Posey again
2. I am not syaing I just want guys that foul hard.

I am saying this team, lacked that nasty toughness of our 2008 team around the glass and it was an element that I feel really affected our overall control of the paint.

WE were one of the worst rebounding teams all year, we got killed on the glass in the finals and allowed 23 offensive rebounds in a game seven....for all the marbles.

Rebounding is about toughness and getting dirty for the ball.

That 08 team, with Posey, Powe, Perk, PJ...AND KG, no one wantd to come down that lane.

This year, we had Perkins...that is it. No one else outside of Rondo and TAllen were real brawlers on the boards for us.

I'm just saying, add your offensive firepower and add some real toughness.

I'm not syaing we need Posey back, we need to infuse some real toughenss and muscle into our big man rotation.
