Nate vs. Eddie House

I know Nate had a couple great playoff games for the C's, but last night I was wondering what Eddie House might have done to get the offense going had he been in there?  Anyone have any thoughts on how the C's playoff run might've been different with Eddie House instead of Nate?

he would have done the same thing Nate did... sit on the bench while the starters try and get the win.

Only difference between Nate and Eddie was the fact that Doc trusted Eddie more. If Doc wanted to use Nate as a spot up shooter the same way that he used Eddie, he could have, but he didn't.

Eddie was always fast point off the bench, played hard, didn't seem to make a lot of mistakes, but was not a 1 guard - so, I get the trade, with Tony Allen, and Daniels both ready to play the 2/3 spots, they needed a point guard backup, but I still did not like the trade, then or now.

i was actually thinking the same thing. back in 08 when we made that huge comeback in LA, rondo was on the bench and the comeback was done with house and posey...

Both Nate and Eddie are supposedly "instant offense" off the bench.

We didn't really use the bench in Game 7.

Eddie certainly would have helped our 3 point shooting.

That's because it  wouldn't have been as successful because Nate isn't that kind of shooter.  I think the big difference between Nate and House is that House played better with Rondo on the floor while Nate played better when Rondo was sitting.  Nate needed to be the primary ball handler while you could work House like Ray Allen, using screens to get open etc.

Both have the same roster flaw for this team.


Both can get hot shooting, but can not play with the best play-maker on the team, Rondo. 



They needs a slightly bigger PG/SG.   That's why I am hoping West gets trade and waived (cap purposes) so the Celtics can sign him.

Eddie couldn't even bring up the ball most of time. Really when he was in, he couldnt even get the offense setup, at least Nate could do that.

Also, Nate is a great catch a shooter, that's what he's known for, but as of late, he wasnt even shooting that well. I bet Nate could knock the same shots if given the opportunity (and did when given a chance).

Also defensively, lets not forget, what Nate did on Jameer Nelson, he was better than Rondo. Eddie was a liability.

No comparison in my opinion. Eddie will be out of the league soon, and Nate will still be around.

I think Eddie would have contributed more the LA series.  He would have helped the C's space the floor as a spot up shooter with Ray or Paul running the point. 

On the same note I think Nate was a better match up in the Orlando series because he made Nelson play on the ball and he gave Orlando a look they hadn't prepared for.  Eddie wouldn't have done this. 

I'd like to see them get a tweener with range to come off the bench.  A guy that can defend both guard positions, handle the ball and space the floor.  A guy like DWest would be primo.

Nate spaces the floor just as well.
