Chris Mannix at SI reports/tweets that Frank may be in the running.

Quote
If Rivers stays on, expect Lawrence Frank to get a long look as his top assistant. Rivers, Ainge respect him and L-Frank wants to work.

Any thoughts on him? I admit I'm not that familiar with his work in Jersey.

Well, other than the fact that his team lost 233 games in a row, he seems like a good coach ;)

How about an offensive coach, so they can score more than 80 points in a big game?

great pickup ..
he was only fired because
a) Lebron wanted to pick his own coach
and
b) the Nets organization tanked the season to land the #1 pick in John Wall (guess #3 isnt that bad  ::) )

so the nets organization had to save face somehow, & lawrence frank was the sacrificial lamb

I've been wondering why Frank hasn't been mentioned as a possible head coach for teams that have had openings.

I think he'd be a great addition to the coaching staff.

He would be an excellent replacement.  I think he is in that same group of tacticians with Thibodeau and JVG.

Chatter at the time was that he wasn't so much a sacrificial lamb as it was a mercy killing.  He seemed to be pretty well-regarded by the folks in Jersey, but it was clear that the new owner was going to want to pick his own coach and that they wanted to spare Frank from having to be directly associated with their unfortunate record.

His name was mentioned

I think he'd be a great addition to the coaching staff.

Frank did interview with the Bulls and Hornets, and I'm still seeing his name associated with the head coaching vacancy in Cleveland.

For those that asked, Frank mentored under Billy Knight, Brian Hill and Byron Scott, and he won the support of both Jason Kidd and Vince Carter in his time in the swamps. His reputation first and foremost is for almost unparalleled pre-game preparation. I'm on board with Frank as a replacement for Thibodeau, less so for Rivers.
