If the rumors are true then Miami wants nothing to due with Beasley. They allegedly tried trading Beasley to New Jersey for Keyon Dooling a couple weeks back which from a talent stand point makes absolutely no sense.

If they are in fact trying to get rid of Beasley then why couldn't we get in on that? Big Baby and a first rounder is a much better option than Keyon Dooling.

Miami gets Baby who has lots of playoff experience to go with some free agents like Bosh and Wade if they in fact score big this summer.

I know Beasley has his issues but the guy can play. He's a 20-10 caliber guy who has the potential to flourish on a championship contending team.

Thoughts?

Why would we want to give up somebody who is an integral part of our team...plus a first for somebody who was going through the motions against us in the playoffs?

I wouldn't trade Davis for Beasley even up.

I would really like Beasley on this team. I think he is playing out of position at the 4, move him to the back up 3 and we're in business.

It seems like Miami is really not asking for much for Beasley. Ryan Russilo on the NBA today podcast a little while ago said that Miami offered Jersey Beasley for the expiring contract of Keyon Dooling and the nets said no.

I'm not sure what we could give Miami for him but if they are almost giving him away we should try to take him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Exactly.  Baby performed admirably in the playoffs, and despite everyone saying he had not shot of being effective against the Lakers because of his size, he did rather well.  He grabbed 9 boards in limited minutes against those trees last night.  He shows up when it matters.

I would take a chance on him if we didn't have to give up Baby to get him.

True. Baby did play admirably and i have gained alot of respect for him as a player but Beasley is obviously the better offensive option, which after watching last nights game, are you really doubting that we need some offensive adjustments?

No under latest forum topics click on Rasheed Wallace and see what I wrote about a Beasley for Sheed trade. Miami is more interested in cap space and the 19th pick as well as Big Baby is too much to give for Beasley. Beasley's trade value is at an all-time low right now. See what I said though, I think it could have legs if Sheed is serious about retiring.

Sorry, but Beasley is not better than Baby.  He is definitely more talented, but talent alone doesn't make you a good player.

Sure, we need offensive options, but I'm not sure Beasley is it.

Beasley has no heart, Baby does. Did you watch the series against Miami? The kid has no nuts at all. I'll take Baby's heart over Beasley's talent any day.

I am not keen on Beasley but this is exactly the type of trade the C's need to make to stay relevant.  With their current cap situation and their lack of valuable assets they need to catch lightening in a bottle.  The only way to do that is either find a gem in the draft or to make a trade for a young player that has worn out their welcome some where else.

Not sure if Beasley is that guy but it is going to take a move of this ilk to make Boston a desirable FA landing spot after the elders are gone.  Chances are they are not going to strike it rich with the MLE or a late teens-early twenties draft pick.

Rondo is the guy who will make Boston a desirable landing spot.

I agree...  we need to target a young stud with a lot of potential and roll the dice.  SOmeone like Anthony Randolph

I love Big Baby ... his energy, attitude, effort, and hard work are a rare thing in the NBA these days, and I want to keep him in green. Don't like Beasley at all ... never have, and I don't see him fitting with this team.

TP for the thread.

As I've said on other threads, the misperception that some of you have about Beasley is humorous, albeit wildly off base. He is a good kid who loves the game, but who's immature and a little headstrong - an awful lot like the point guard in green who in a lot of your minds can do no wrong.

Acquiring Beasley would be a masterstroke by Ainge. Not sure I want to trade Davis for him, but Beasley is precisely the kind of player that - with some mentoring by KG and Pierce - could grow into the bridge star that we so desperately need to move forward.

Make the call, Danny. Right now.
