Anyone else notice Pierce played 46 out of 48 minutes... and was the only Celtic with a ± greater than zero?  Maybe if he had just 2 more minutes...

Just a thought, not a troll.

Doc should've rested Pierce at the top of the fourth, just for a bit. You could see he had no legs left towards the end of the quarter.

I don't think rest would have changed anything for Pierce. His struggles offensively were down to a bad matchup and unintelligent offensive play.

Maybe he could have done a little more on the boards? I don't know ... I'm inclined to think extra rest would have made no difference.

Pierce had 10 rebounds, 7 more than Garnett. :-\

Speaking of boxscores, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett were outrebounded by their counterparts 33-5.  That's the game right there.

Garnett's performance on the glass was pitiful and would be my #1 reason for why the Celtics lost last night.

Pierce was tremendous on the backboards. If I'm recalling this correctly, most of his rebounds came in the first half. He had six of his boards after the opening minutes of the third quarter and grabbed only one rebound over the next 15-20 minutes of game time.

That is why I wondered about the rest and rebounding ... but he was so good on the glass all night, and I think it makes no difference to his offense or defense, so I'm inclined to think extra rest would make no real difference.
