What to do if Perk isn't ready for the start of next season

I mean lets face it, he tore his acl and mcl 2 days ago.  There's no way he'll be ready for the start of next season.  So with Rasheed most likely retiring and KG not liking to play the 5, we don't have a legitimate center right now.

So now you gotta think, what does Danny do?  Does he draft a back up center and play a rookie until Perk is ready?  Does he sign a serviceable free agent?  God forbid does they start big baby at the 5 for awhile?

If Perk is ready or not we're in big trouble. He'll never be the same. Our 2nd biggest asset next to Rondo concerning the future has been lost to injury. We need a winner in the draft.

Perk is a big reason C's lost. Considering how close the game was he is a big diffrence esp. with rebounding. C's had bad luck injuries and still almost won. Just wish the team that won was anyone but the Lakers.

No chance at all that the Celts can get an All Star/Free agent? Even with the expiring contracts and the deep free agent class? Hope someone can explain why (Like Knicks GM, I'm not too familiar with arcane salary cap rules)

Outside of him, the best option is to go small with Garnett at center and someone like Amir Johnson or Louis Amundson at the four.

I think Darko can do some of what Perk does.  He won't be asked to do much, but defend, rebound and make easy shots, so he might succeed in the Celtics system.  He is a better offensive player than Perk.

In Perk's interview the other day, he said that the Doctor told him that if he had this injury in December, he would be lost for the season.  That doesn't sound like only weeks of recovery.
