The game ended two-plus hours ago. I am sad, but no longer devastated. The Lakers are the champions and they outplayed the Celtics tonight in one hell of a series.

It is time to move on. Time for Danny to get to work and figure out who he is going to draft, who he is going to trade and who he is going to sign.

It is time to move on with my life, my wife and two kids. Time to see my daughter off to college in the fall. Time to see my son off to his sophomore year of high school in the fall. Time to coach my Boys U16 soccer team in the playoffs this weekend where they hopefully win and move to the state championships next weekend.

Time to move on. Time to celebrate Fathers Day on Sunday with my father and family.

I love sports, I love the Celtics, but in the end it is sports, a game, a diversion. And whether they win or lose, it is always time to return the next hour or day or week to what really matters.

Thanks for the effort, Celts. You poured your heart out in this series and for that you should be proud. See you next season.

A week from now, we'll be all over the draft coverage and offseason plans.

That's one great thing about sports - it always gives you something new to follow. And hope springs eternal.

There IS always a tomorrow.

Agreed. TP my friend.

A lot of emotion rolling around this forum this evening.

What we can say for sure is they exceeded expectations time and time again. 72-10 became 27-27 and then look how far we came!

I'm disappointed. I think we had what it takes to win tonight but sometimes it just doesn't happen like that.

Time to think about the future.

Well, it's hard to move on now because there doesn't seem to be much of a future for the Celtics to move on towards, at least not in the short term.

But I've really enjoyed the last few years from the Celtics.  Hopefully it won't be too long before the green are great again and getting us all riled up well into June.

For now, it's time to focus less on basketball and the Celtics and concern myself with other things.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

As painful as this loss has been, there really is no choice but to move on. The Celtics gave us one hell of a roller coaster ride this season, unfortunately, we fell four points short in achieving banner #18. Thankfully there's the World Cup to keep my mind off of this disappointing loss. The off season will be very interesting. In the meantime, keep your heads up guys. The Lakers may have beaten our team, but we still have our Celtic Pride intact. Win or lose, the Celtics will always be number 1 in my book. Thank you all for a wonderful season of exchanging intelligent ideas here at Celticsblog.

No doubt near term will be difficult. One thing I like about  LA is their Front Office and management team in general. They have been kicking our butts for a long time. I have no complaints about Wyc however. He has dug deep.
